Can/ will this be done?

Hi,

Is it possible to make an 8- Bay charger 8*2 Amps.?

How about 4x2 Amps and 4x3Amps?

I am not interested, for good reason, in 2 x Vapcell S4 Plus, 2 x Mi boxer C4-12 or 2 x SkyRC Chargers.

Maybe someone makes an 8 x 2 Amp charger?

Thanks.

For 4x2, see the VC8S reviews recently posted…

Thank you. But that’s not what I’m asking. Please read the title of the thread and what I’m asking is possible. Thank you

No one makes an 8 bay 2 amp charger. Your limiting factor is input. Can’t think of a single lithium-ion battery charger that’s not isolated from high voltage AC with a DC cord. The best right now is Xtar VC8S with PD3.0(15V 3A) & QC3.0(5V 2A / 9V 2A). This gives you 4.2V 3A2/2A4/1A*8.

Thanks… is it possible in the future?

I got the charger you mentioned yesterday. The VC8S. I like it but for whatever reason it won’t charge my MJ ones at 2 amps, only 1 amp some of them are only 500 milliamps. The internal resistance isn’t higher than 31 for All 4 cells.
They charge at 2 amps on my and only S4 that is left.

I kind of knew that the 8 bay scenarios do not exist today. More curious if that could possibly happen in the future?

I would absolutely accept this but I have not found it. Please read the requirements carefully.

It’s really simple it’s just hard to find, and I haven’t found it.

A 4* 2Amp charger that Must take 21700 FT.

It Must be reliable and safe.

S4 is ruled out from my past experiences.
A friend of mine had a mi boxer. He said the version he was getting resolved an issue of overcharging. That wasn’t the case. They either sent him an old one or they didn’t fix it.
He had one battery come out at 4.36 volts I think the other one was 4.33 volts and he sent it back.

I don’t have to have 3A, I would like it but if what I just mentioned above exists that would be fine.

Thanks

I read the title. You asked several questions, including if 4 x 2 Amps is possible. I simply indicated that it exists, so, the answer to that question is “yes - it HAS been done.”

SkyRC Mc3000 will take 21700 cells and do 2 amps for all 4 slots at the same time.

Thanks for the suggestion. But that’s one of three chargers I listed in the op that I do not want. Cost way too much.

You misunderstood. In an 8 bay charger the four times two amps and four times three amps is what I was talking about. That was one of two scenarios for an 8 bay charger. That sentence was inclusive for an eight Bay charger not two separate 4 bay chargers. No big deal.

There are misunderstandings all the time through this way of communicating, things get misconstrued. But this is all we got. So we make the best of it.

Cost is a bit relative. I have been using my original MC3000 for over 12 years without problems. I use it pretty much every day. In many cases the cost of others that fail over relatively short times more than make up for the cost difference.
Besides, it is a much more flexible and accurate charger than any of the cheap ones.
Up to you, of course, but the expression “penny wise and pound foolish” comes to mind.

1 Thank

Ok. That is your opinion.

Fine but that is irrelevant. I list three Chargers in the beginning of my thread that I do not want. That is one of them.

Just trying to be helpful. It is all about personal choices, of course.

This one will do 2 amps for all 4 slots.

Enova Gyrfalcon S8000 (updated 2024-05-18)

Maybe 40% less $ than the SkyRC.

Thx. I will look into that.

8*2 is almost 70W, with losses and everything you’d need a ~90W power supply and hell of a lot of cooling. Possible, yes. Reasonable… Probably not. The amount of people who would use it is slim, and the development and manufacturing cost significant.

It is nice to dream even though all of them do not come true! Thank you

@xtarflashlight how about it? :grin:

8 bays, 2A on each bay at the same time. Maybe you can make OPs dream come true haha. Would be pretty expensive I guess, but might be cool for hardcore enthusiasts, and for rescue workers who need to charge many batteries after each shift.

2 Thanks

I personally would probably buy 2 x 4 bay chargers if I had this particular use case.

5 Thanks

Yup, same here.
I prefer the Vapcell S4 Plus, which is a great charger, but don’t try to use it as a power bank because the charger will self-destruct (despite being advertised as a power bank.) :+1:
