Chinese holding up shipments?

Is anyone having a problem getting flashlight shipments out of China? Because candidate Trump was talking about putting tariffs on Chinese goods. So I put in a bunch of orders to a variety of flashlight parts dealers Fasttech, Kaidomain, etc. In the past most of my packages have moved through the Chinese airport in 4 days or less, but the packages are delivered to various Chinese Post Office sites where they just stop movement. I wait about 10 days before I ask for the dealers to do a check and then two days after I ask the packages appear in a NYC terminal. I can’t tell if it is just normal Christmas delays because of increase in the number of packages moving or if it is in some way a purposeful delay. Is anyone else experiencing a problem like this?

I know there are delays from various dealers but these dealers have always been good at shipping their packages quickly.

I just received about a half dozen different shipments, parts, lights etc. and had no issues. I bought most of it on the same day from different places but had the same 2 week(ish) delivery window. I’ve waited longer to get things from Canada or neighboring states.

That’s how it works…?
It gets delivered to an office and gets placed on a ship and then a few days or weeks later it arrives in the country it was sent to…
They don’t update what latitude and longitude coordinates the ship is at every 2 minutes.

yes dont worry sometimes this pages not 100% up to date for me it says often outward exchange office for 10 days until it arrives and then after it has arrived it shows delivered.

The Chinese won’t give a rat’s about Trump’s musings.
And that’s all they are …… he’s not even President yet.

Imagine going to check tracking and seeing this. Helpful? Probably not. Just wait on it.

^ that’s gold

there are products where you can track the ship, ie a BMW with European delivery. BIMMERPOST Guide to Ordering and Tracking your BMW
so if the shop would let you know which ship it is on you could in theory track your flashlight

But aren’t most smaller products sent by airmail anyway?

I can’t remember the last time I got something that wasn’t airmailed.

I ordered from Banggood (flashlights), Gearbest (charger), and a ebay seller (headlamp) in China around Thanksgiving. All of the packages have arrived. I thought they got here a little earlier than usual. I’m not sure what they are doing if the order contains batteries.

I ordered two Convoy L6’s from Banggood on Nov 29, both with the free “Priority Direct” delivery option (supposedly 7-12 business days). According to the tracking numbers, one is still in China (“Origin Post is Preparing Shipment”) while the other should be delivered tomorrow (“Departed USPS Destination Facility” in the next city over from mine).
I think I’ll demand that my shipping fees are refunded! Oh, wait… IMO shipping variability is just part of the game when you order straight from China.

So - to answer your question in the OP, I don’t think shipping times are any different from normal. That is to say: unpredictable and highly variable, according to factors that are either random or incomprehensible to us.

I had two orders in China. One from Fasttech and the other Kaidomain. Both of these were hung up at the Chinese airports (my packages are usually sent registered Air mail ). After about 10 or 12 days respectively I wrote the companies and asked them to check. In both cases two days later each package arrived in NYC airport. Then 2 or 3 days to me. At about the same time I put in an order with Solarforce in Hong Kong and it moved through Hong Kong airport, again registered Air Mail, in 4 days and to me in 3 after arriving in NYC airport.

It used to be it didn’t matter China or Hong Kong. The package would get out of China in 4 or 5 days and then 3 or 4 days to me after landing in NYC. All packages are sent the way all regular packages are sent registered Air Mail with tracking no special handling or express service. None of the packages had batteries in them but I have ordered batteries in the past which were also sent registered Air Mail and arrived in the same 8 day window.

So I can’t explain why all of a sudden packages from the Chinese mainland are having a problem. Maybe it is just Christmas shipping, except it didn’t happen with the Hong Kong package and it didn’t slow them down once they arrived in the U.S.

My Banggood flashlights have arrived ok, but nearly two months ago I ordered flashlights and several other products from Aliexpress and none of them have arrived yet. Aliexpress was never fast, but this time it seems worse. Been almost a month and nothing has arrived from fastech either.

Although i would say coincidence, i have not seen this before……………this is what going round in circles looks like!

My orders form GB and FT came A-OK. International Bridge shipping from GB was slower than expected and their Intl bridge shipment tracker is slow to update.

now this is really sad.
I’ve only experience one loop where it travels from shenzhen to guangzhou then to beijing, back to shenzhen then singapore and lastly my destination malaysia
and the product came smashed to bits and the seller sent me another package and it was fast like 2 weeks direct shenzhen to malaysia

it’s a glass screen protector for my xiaomi mi3 phone

Unbelievable power911……………………it arrived today!!! could not make it up

I have had now 3 refunds on delayed shipments (possibility is: they never even sent them. Took my money as a free loan for some time)

Most of my shipments have now taken 5 weeks+, which is not so normal but then again, christmas makes it so often. :expressionless:

Gearbest has done that to me with my last two orders. In fact they never said anything until I noticed 10 days later that they were still “processing” in stock items. They send back a message with some lame excuse why they can’t ship the item to the US. The real reason is, they didn’t want to sell the item that cheap using their holiday coupon codes and GB points I accumulated.

I had tracking like that on an order from Convoy. After no updates for just over 2 weeks, the package arrived here in Australia. I think it took 32 days. I wouldn’t be too concerned if you see it going back and forwards.

I ordered a Convoy flashlight from banggood on dec 5th. Tracking indicates that it has still not left China.
