This capacitor has nothing at all to do with temperature control or the UI.
Power issues are the only issues related to this.
TA and I are currently testing the thermal protection. I will update with the information we gather.
I promise you guys I have not stopped working on these lights.
Those of you that know TA are welcome to ask him and I am sure he will let you know I have been working on this long before the Holiday ended and with his help we are getting better results.
Terry said they were removing that capacitor from both the 35 and 70.2…I wondered if it would affect the thermal regulation/step down on the 70.2…
(he just said it didn’t…)
Does anyone know if the NW variant of the 70.2 will still be sold officially later on? The colors will be restricted to black and white/silver, but i havent read anything about available LED variants.
Sorry, I did a Mistake with the tracking number. I changed LX… to LS… to get the following result. But with the correct number I do not get a result.
Here is my old/wrong content
I have concerns with the tracking of my MT09R with XHP35.
I got a tracking-number from Dale and the first results are form 2018-03-07 as you see in the following. But my main concern is, that I live in Germany and not in the USA!

So about this capacitor. My 70.2 version seems to be working fine, would removing this capacitor have any positive effect on the light? Improved output perhaps?
I’m not terribly worried about voiding my warranty, I figure even if I still have a warranty, sending it to and from China is not logistically realistic.
Both of my 70.2s also didn’t have any problems but I’m also curious if removing the capacitor will bump the lumens further and by how much. I read Terry said it would further decrease parasitic drain so that’s one bonus.
Put a set of 30q's in it and test it. You get a touch more start up amperage with the 30q and when it hits that resistor it can't filter it properly so the light does the only thing it can ot resets.
That reset is the blink that people were seeing.
Then loosening the tail cap even just a quarter turn backed off spring compression a little and lowered the amperage no by just a tiny fraction and would all the light to come on.
I seemed to notice a very slight output increase after removing the capacitor. But being totally honest that could as well have been temperature, humidity, hell even the glass on my tube could have been cleaner.
I have not as I am just seeing this in the last day or so. I am hesitant to do anything just yet as I have been in contact with Dale and in a holding pattern waiting to see what he is doing. Another day or so and I may have to rip this thing apart!
