Bugsy, people complaining aren’t complaining about any of the work done by the team at all, they are complaining that something changed between samples that were approved and what we actually paid for. There was a certain expectation from Manker and something went wrong. That’s not your fault so don’t take it that way but ya know, its Mankers issue. Let’s see what they answer and go from there.
Just received my 1A and 3D and bypassed dinner to fire them up. After a close inspection and a light show downstairs (it’s not dark outside yet), I am 100% pleased with my lights. No issues and visually appealing to my eyes. I’m a “Happy Camper” and can’t wait to show them off to my buddies at work.
Thanks to those who put in the time and effort in design and the logistics.
Just by looking at me you would say he had to be pretty excited about something to pass/delay his evening meal. Also, my dinner bypass got me an extra 250 lumens. Now I will be stuck doing the dishes.
Got mine today with the free shipping option, that didn’t ship until the 3D was in stock. I concur with the last person that talked about the modes on paper looked hard, but playing with the light things become clear fast. I think I need to edit the modes for sure, batt check is the greatest thing ever not needing to unscrew and test, but it’s too far away if I don’t want to use memory and always end on that mode. None of mine have issues. All work fine out of the box, and I can take apart all the sections just using my t-shirt for grip—It’s the same thing I do with glass jar lids, my hands are just too slippery otherwise. All the threads/o-rings have some sort of liquid on them. And I see no issues with the anodizing. Love the color of the 3D, but the beam is so spread out the 1A looks pretty blue, more so than the X6-SE CW, at least it’s way brighter 8) On ceiling bounces to see the color of the room lit up, the 1A is way more blue than the X6-SE CW.
A bit disappointed how small the BLF Special Edition logo is, and no where on the light does it say it’s by Manker or what it is. The two parts of the clip that extend pointing straight out from the tube, I feel will cut me one day if I keep the clip on. It’s a nice clip though, and I don’t like clips. I like to remove lights from my bike when going places in the evening, so the clip probably will stay on but get edited with a dremel for my safety. Also I was sad the spare button is just the same, I enjoy having a GITD one on all cool white lights I have.
I am pretty ecstatic about the output of these lights with normal batteries, but I do have high amps ones that will arrive one day.
Good work to everyone involved in this! I think I owe Toykeeper a drink, I might need more of her help
I got my light two days ago and wow this may be the fastest shipping I have gotten from them yet.
The light is nice, the driver is much better than I had I thought and the moonlight mode is great for middle of the night sneaking through the house. The only issue I have is, the anodizing is pretty poor, I’ve had it in my pocket for two days and already have a few minor nicks in it. They aren’t anything major but I’m guessing it’s going to wear about like the old Ultrafire 501b (just a guess only time will tell).
Thank you guys for all the hard work getting this group done!!
Hi,
I got mine moments ago, the NL-post is great, this was the fastest normal (registered) shipping to Germany I’ve ever encountered.
But the light (3D) is DOA , there is some dirt in the reflector and there are already little flaws in the anodizing.
I wonder if all these DOA units but bypassing the switch works are because the switch retaining ring is not making good contact with the PCB? Maybe someone should try adding a couple solder spots and see if it fixes the issue?
