OK, so some of the members here have not even received their SE A6 and are worried about the quality… Going into a situation with a preconceived notion sets you up for failure. In this case, any negative QC issues will be standing out and you WILL be disappointed. Not due to the light, but because you are holding on to a negative view when initially looking at something.
I bought ten of these, I am very happy with them. They were not pre production samples, but off the shelf lights ( I had to wait for one of the tints to restock prior to shipping ) so I have a rather large sample compared to most. I sat down and tested every one of these when I got them in. I did not have any issues with any of mine…
None were DOA and while side by side with my stock Eagle Eye A6 I bought months ago, they are not the same, the Eagle Eye falls by the wayside for UI, Brightness, and even tint (EE is NW, one of each tint on the Manker A6, and I like all those tints better). The EE finish is better, threads tighter, general workmanship is better, but this is when the light is not on that I notice these things…. Lights have a binary state, and both states influence their impression of them. On and Off are flashlight states, I will take the superior ON state over the inferior OFF state everytime….
Read my PFlexPRO M1 review if you want further information on this. It is simply a Convoy M1 on the outside, the function/build quality sets it apart, way apart. The same with this SE A6 in my opinion. I do not mind the loose threads, anyone that actually uses their A6 and has a possibility of getting dirt into them will understand this… I highly doubt that I will ever pinch an O-ring in the Manker SE A6, the threads allow enough movement to prevent it. I really would have liked the ability to lego with other lights, but what other lights lego across brands right now?
There is no holy grail of flashlights, or this forum would be a single post of “BUY THIS LIGHT” and a whole bunch of boring replies echoing the feeling of pulling a sword from a stone and realizing you are king or queen of your personal light that will do everything for you….
If you have a QC issue, take it up with BangGood, they need to know too… There are plenty of work-arounds for the issues like the tailcap not going down to contact the body, don’t do this unless you NEED the light, just contact BangGood and get them to correct it. Something that wrong is just wrong, on a $5 light or $500 dollar light. Informing others here on the disappointment you feel is good too, but for those that have not received the lights yet, go into it with an open mind…. It is a heck of a flashlight for $25 shipped…
