My S2+ actually had both rings.

So do mine, but they aren’t what I’m talking about here, the headlamps and M21G are very, very bright.

I have the T2, T4, H2, H3, S2, S2+, S21E, S21F, M2, M21D, M21E, M21F, M21G, C8+ L21A, L21B and only the H2, H3, M21C/G (same head) have it so bad that it’s something that bugs me on turbo.

2 Thanks

If i remember correctly @id30209,(in the M21c xhp70.2 review thread by @Bilakos10)fix his M21c 'ringy thing by coloring black the inner lip of the bottom hole of the reflector ,the 1mm portion that surrounds the emmiters dome.
Perhaps Simon can address this M21c,d,g series 'ring artifacts in near future by tweaking the design of the reflector of these wonderful series mid-size flashlight.

Heres the link to the M21c thread by @bilakos10

All 70.3 are the lowest flux available, so tint will probably be good. 50.3 can be a little above BBL, at least the 5000K. We will be sure when Simon share the tests.

Will there be a H series headlight?

How does the XHP70.3 HI compare to the GT FC40 in the M21E?

Personally I don’t like the FC40. I find them a bit green. Even the 3000k CCT. I recently bought all CCTs of the 70.3 hi. Although “low CRI”, they have just a sweet tint. It’s gorgeous. Specially the 4000 and 3000k. A bit rosy.

Hmm, interesting. I have a 4500k FC40 that is probably one of my favorite tinted lights next to my domed 519a. I like perfectly neutral lights and get uneasy when things get as rosy as 219b.

Any idea how they compare in output/throw?

3 Thanks

Tint is a very subjective thing. I do prefer the more rosy kind. Having said that, I don’t have a 4500k FC40. I’ve tried the 5000-5500 and the 3000-3200k one. Wasn’t really happy with neither. I think I’ll get the 1800-2000k one next just out of curiosity. In the 4500k range I have plenty 219b’s and for a more neutral experience I have the B35AM.

Output I don’t really know because I don’t have equipment to test. However in the throw department I have almost certainty that the 70.3 HI will outperform the Fc40 due to die size. The 70.3 HI has a much smaller die.

I’ve noticed since getting back into flashlight for the last year or so that a lot of people on these forums really, really like pink-tinted lights.

Personally, I don’t like lights that are visibly green or pink, but there is seemingly no segment of enthusiast flashlight forums that likes green-tinted lights in the same way as all of the “pinkies.” It’s a little weird.

“A little weird” should be the standard definition of people who spends obscene amounts of money in illumination devices and discusses them on a web forum. Hahaha

:musical_note: I like warm tints an’ I can not lie.

Any plans to sell L21b xhp50.3hi 5A?

I can produce some black aluminum alloy rings for the head of M21C/M21D/M21G

1 Thank

what about L21B with XHP70.3 HI

4 Thanks

Yes. But the l21b is perfect for hunt, in my opinion i prefer the 50.3hi whit smo for more throw

Any L21B model with a warmer CCT option sounds great to me, whether it’s the XHP70.3, 519A, FC40, etc. They will be lower output than the cool CCT throwers, but if people are willing to buy them, why not? Output isn’t everything.
