Simon, is there any plan to make a TIR thrower like the Wurkkos TD01? I really love the idea of big TIR tight angle thrower, and your drivers are the best. It would be really nice to have a flashlight in the form factor of L21B with a big TIR and 8A buck driver. It would be my ideal thrower.

Just looking at the TD01 specs, they are saying 2200 lumens/1039M. If we take that at face value the M21H or M26D might please you in any emitter configuration. For a “mid range” thrower try the 3° TIR. I have M21H in 4000K/5000K FC40s and they are gorgeous, but a 5000K 70.3 HI CRI70 would be pretty decent at 4000 Lm.

Wurkkos basocally copied the Acebeam L19V2 with the TD01. The driver is way worse and the performance isn’t as good, but it’s 1/3 the price. Personally, I’d get the Acebeam for the performance alone.
Simon, if you could do an equivalent that would be awesome. The Acebeam has a 10A (input) regulated driver and very good regulation. I’m not a fan of the super tight beam so if you could tweak that a bit perhaps.

I do remember seeing they are wurkkosing on better regulation for several models, the TD01 being one of them.

The TS22 is the only wurkkos model i know of with a true regulated driver (boost driver for the xhp70.2). It’s not bad, but not great. Better than their fet+1 drivers like th TD01 uses for sure. Acebeam makes some of the best electronics out there so its going to be hard for a $35-$40 flashlight to compete with a $100 flashlight n that respect.
Unfortunately TD01 just uses run of the mill fet resistor with PWM driver, which only sustains at a pathetic 300 lm. Go look at zeroair’s review. The claimed 2200 lm drops off within seconds. To me this kind of driver performance is just toy level, not really useful in real world. In contrast Convoy’s 8A buck sustains at 900 lm for the entirety of the battery discharge. There is no comparison.
