Copper pipe from Kiriba-ru and some parts i had on hand.
I cheated a little and modified a P60 pill to suit my needs.

very nice build!
Looking good mate. Whats the driver?
Honestly i don’t remember if it’s a mtn or lexel driver…???
Made the bezel this morning
Saturday today. I went to work for an hour or two then came home and worked on this light. Got called back to work in the middle of the day for another hour then returned and spent all afternoon trying to plow through getting the machining done. I didn’t get pics of the tail or retaining ring except when I broke a drill bit
Body and tail together for the aesthetics…
I still need to do some work on the body then i can fit the electronics but the bulk of the work is done.
This flashlight looks gorgeous with this knurling.
You should start selling some hosts.
Thanks Skylight. This type of knurling took aayejuz to complete, definitely a labour of love. Blackening the copper on the other hand was very quick and easy. Then back on the lathe for a quick sanding…
The tail must be a slightly different alloy. I noticed a slightly different colour to it before and now the blackened parts scrub off easier than the body. Now that I’m looking at it closely I’m wondering if i can fit another line of knurling on the tail near the clip….
Impressive knurling! What do you use to blacken?
Thanks. I use Jax Black- Brass/Bronze/Copper Darkener
wow :+1:
Dang pinkpanda3310, that’s an awesome looking flashlight!
Very nice!
How did you fixed the optics in place? Since bezel bore is straight (no steps), I suppose the optics is glued?
Do you use CAD to model such honeycomb pattern? It looks fantastic, also this shape should be more effective in terms of weight to rigidity ratio than regular ribs.
Thanks guy
It doesn’t show well in the above pics but there is a lip/step in the bezel.
I didn’t use any CAD. Soon after making a stronger tool post spindle last month I did some experimenting….
When the prize of a mixed bag of metals was delivered the idea started to grow. Thank you for the prize kiriba-ru
Awesome build
Have to agree with the others here pp. Love your work.
Love to see creative work!
I worked on this a bit more last night. I put the extra line of cuts on the tail near the clip. It looks a bit more uniform now. I also installed the electronics but that didn’t go well. This driver doesn’t go well with a lighted tail. The tail lights up but the driver will only turn on low mode. Also the beam is not especially bad but it needs some tweaking. Once I get those things sorted i’ll be super happy :sunglasses:
I’ve got some rectangular titanium to cut up but that will be a much more difficult build for me
Looks great!! Nice Job!
Based on the white solder mask, I’d guess Lexel. I haven’t gotten anything from MTNE with white, but have a couple things from Lexel with it.
The build looks amazing. You need to do the CRX thing and occasionally sell something off here and there, because I’d be thrilled to own a pinkpanda light.
I’m not as prolific as CRX at churning out mods but I do have 1-2 excess lights
