Coronavirus **personal experiences** thread

My opinion is much the same but opposite.

People are still some what sane here. Ok, the toilet paper hording trend has reached us, but we can still stroll down to the supermarket and buy food.

Luckily hand shaking is not commonly requested nowadays …

Taking it to another level

Exactly. Not at all unlike those of us sneakily hoping for a blackout so we can play with all our shiny toys while The Muggle sits in the dark. :smiling_imp:

People in the eastern parts of Europe still think cash is safer than cards, some in their 50s and up are so annoyed by them. The irony in thinking banknotes are safer.
Not to mention I still saw people in 2019 first licking their finger before counting the cash.

IMO, those are the best two comments in the entire thread :+1:

Has anyone posted this video yet? This German doctor weighs in on Covid-19…

edit: for those who have requested a description of the video’s content, the doctor is a pulmonologist who studies flu-like diseases. He explains that the test for this virus was never tested prior to approval and may not be accurate. He also discusses the statistical sampling method on which the alleged mortality rate is based.

I enjoy that people post links to things. But please give a detail or two. This post as it is forces everyone to watch a 10+ minute video without knowing why, and kinda falls under spam rules to me.

That’s a very good point. A brief description of something being linked too would really help in deciding whether to go there or not.

Almost 3,000 dead people in Italy now. The president of Lombardy, Attilio Fontana, has warned of the final collapse of the health system in his region because of the extremely high number of corona patients. "Unfortunately, the number of infections is not decreasing, it remains high. Soon we will no longer be able to provide treatment for the sick," he said, according to the media.

Germany's neighbour, the Czech Republic, feels compelled to take drastic measures: In the future, all people will have to wear a mouth and nose cover in public.

Some federal states in Germany consider to completely lock down public life incl. the use of curfews as our neighboring countries have already done. Unfortunately, many people do not follow the urgent advices to minimize social contacts. Instead, some people make parties with barbecue and beer and don‘t take the virus serious.

China wants to send 2,000,000 masks and 50,000 quick tests for Covid-19 to Europe.

A former pulmonologist presents his view about the “coronavirus” (does not even say COVID-19 or SARS-2) and recent hysteria while you are being suggested to participate in a crowdfunding so the truth about the corona virus comes out.
The same guys that produced the SwineFlu investigating documentary.

Are the drugs effective on the old people who die?
There have been talks that maybe the ACE2 enzyme inhibitors might actually help the virus more in the case of elders or in the case of certain people (as in old people have tons of other hormonal and enzymatic issues compared to young people, and not all old people have the same issues anyway).
So basically some are questioning how much these drugs are helping or actually worsening the health of certain individuals since they die.

People in their 70s and 80s die the most based on this early deaths image.

If watched it. He is basically saying that we know so little that the panic is a wave of governments and scientists all trying to get their say.

Hmm, I wonder, are the banks still open? :smiling_imp:

Because it started much longer ago. Of course the recovery rates won’t be as high for populations where most contracted it in the last few weeks vs months ago.

>80% recovery rate is definitely believable with proper care given the mortality rate of symptomatic/confirmed cases, and now that antivirals, etc. have been found to be effective and used.

In the Czech Republic, the state of emergency is declared.
Wearing protective masks is mandatory. Anyone who comes out of the home must have his mouth and nose covered. The problem is the lack of protective masks. People make masks at home and give them out to those who don’t.
From 10AM to 12AM, only people over the age of 65 may enter stores.
Only grocery stores, drugstores, pharmacies, petrol stores and car repair shops are open. All other stores are closed. Also closed are restaurants, cinemas, theaters, schools.
We are allowed to go to work, to buy basic supplies and to see a doctor.
Car factories will be closed tonight. It produces Skoda, VW, Hyundai, Toyota, Peugeot and Citroen.

Banks are not closed but limited. The vast majority of people use internet banking.

State borders are closed. Several areas are completely enclosed.

Currently 522 people are infected, 5 people are in serious condition, no one has died yet.

This is an unpleasant situation, but I believe it will be good.

I would agree with you……. but then we would both be wrong.

Got an email today stating that everyone at work will be off until at least April 30. I work for a school district.

My niece's school district, and all schools in Riverside County, will also be closed until April 30th.
