Another wee brass build, this is built around a filed down Thrunite Ti brass pill and Efest 10440 with the usual hand tools - a hacksaw, files & sandpaper
This light has an XP-L HI v2 1A emitter on a 10mm sinkpad viewed through a TIR optic with cyan GITD detail.
Forward tail clicky and being the ti driver can be powered from the main four cell chemistries we use.
It is K&S tubing, comes in brass, steel, aluminium and copper although I have only been able to obtain the brass & alu stuff here.
I think it goes up to around 16mm Metric and Imperial.
Each progressive size fits inside the next, great for these little projects.
Other larger tubing I use is search, mix & match.
Hey friend! You’ve inspired me again. I’m am about to finish an S41s inspired and all polished up. I messed up the optic and have been waiting for a replacement before I put it up for sale. Well I’ll be waiting a little longer even as I just placed an order for some gitd powder. It’ll be my first experience with the stuff.
Cool, what will you mix it with? I would recommend a low viscosity clear silicone like this from FT as opposed to an epoxy on MCPCB’s.
When using the powders a larger grain size of strontium aluminate is better and don’t put so much on that it touches the optic.
Aw man, you would have had fun with that!
The mix will need to be quite thick and so the particles block the UV light, it won’t set all the way through - leads to a messy disaster
Yeah silicone is best where it will be in contact with a lot of heat I think, unless someone has a better idea.
