Dear BLF friends,

We are making a new product, hope we can get some great idea here.

Model Name: KC1
Style: Key Chain light
LightSource: Front(White)+Side(White and Red)
Control: Single Side button
Magnetic tail
Type C charging

UI:
ON/OFF
Click to turn on/off the front light.
From ON, press and hold to ramp the output from low to High, when it hits top or button it pauses, release and press to ramp in the reverse direction.
Double click: Turbo(From On/OFF)
From OFF, press and hold to turn on Red, press and hold again to ramp from low to high, or high to low, similar to front light ramp, double click to switch between white light and red light.
Lockout/Unlock:
From off, 4 or more clicks to lockout/unlock the flashlight.

Lockout warning
Press and hold to turn on low mode, release to turn on.

I don’t think a strong magnet is useful in a keychain light? It will just suck everything with iron or nickel in it to it.

I agree. I avoid magnets on keychain lights. Otherwise I pull my keys out of my pocket and anything else with ferrous metal come out with them… Usually then all ending up on the floor. Or having to be peeled off…

My opinion - lockout is a must-have in keychain flashlight. Also I would love to see high CRI in main light - not so many keychain lights have it, this could mean high CRI would make it stand out of the crowd.

Lockout definitely. 4clicks is a good number.
Replaceable batteries :white_check_mark:!
High cri on both would be wonderful!
5000k main. 4000k or 3000k on side.
Red(not sidelight, the color)is a color we like to be able to see.
Red(the sidelight) a darker red not orange-red would be nice.

Take a look at the k3 ultramulti for your competition. High cct main, low cct side(a bit muddy). Low cri. Non-removable battery 750mah.
Theirs has uv +laser too.

CRI would definitely set you apart.

Magnets can be problematic. Perhaps try and make it removable if you can. Best of both worlds.

Would love at least IP66 or better.

Btw, there’s already an Emisar KC1, so you might want to consider a different name to make it stand out (if it’s not too late).

Yes, we make it 5 or more times click to lockout or unlock. What do you guys think? Too complicated?

Personally, I would prefer 4 clicks for lockout. It has become a common convention in enthusiast UIs like Anduril and is used by many manufacturers/models, such as Sofirn, Wurkkos, Skilhunt, Manker, Wuben and Cyansky.

5 clicks is not a deal-breaker, but 4 clicks would make the UI feel more familiar and reduce the need to remember a brand-specific lockout sequence.

Alternative: I see that the button is lighted.
If in lockout and someone presses the button, let the button blink the amount of presses that are needed to end lockput.

So someone wants to switch on the light at night, but it’s in lockout - if he doesn’t remember, all he has to do is to click the button and count, and then press the button the counted amount.

The Seigaha pattern is nice, but no anodization is going to survive being on a keychain, so you should probably make one that’s bare metal.

hi l4M4, the reason we set it 5 or more, so you don’t just exact click 5 times to unlock, even 6, 7, 8 you will unlock. How does that sounds to everyone?
