they are a game changer
This is definitely the crappiest thread on the forum right now.
I’d never used one until I bought a Brondell attachment about 3 years ago. Glad I got it. I thought the cold water would be a problem in winter, but it isn’t (although it’s not as cold in OK as in NY). IME there was just no way to get really clean with just TP, short of taking a shower afterward. The bidet attachment gets water, um, higher up than one can otherwise go, and this eliminated later-in-the-day itching.
The Brondell isn’t the greatest, but it was only about $35. The control valve has to be opened too far to get the water flow started, so then I have to quickly turn it down a bit or it feels like a pressure washer. I wish it had more fine-tuning to the valve. Oh, and the first one started to leak at the valve when it was about 10 months old, but Brondell replaced the whole thing under warranty. Now the replacement unit’s valve is leaking a tiny bit, but so far just a few drops.
You folks with the handheld sprayers, is it easier to control the volume?
I have a handheld one. Wipe off excess shit w my hands. Dry off w toilet paper…
The only good reason not to use one is if you can’t afford one. They’re life changing.
So a Mr. Bidet could technically be called a Mr. Tushy-Washer.
Totally depends on the type of bidet. A separate, stand-alone, porcelain bidet (the traditional kind) can also be used for a foot bath. Bidet’s are also used for women’s fronts.
Group buy anyone ?
I'm thinking about ordering this bidet attachment.

It's the one that appeals to me most on Amazon.
Some problem can only be solved with professional equipment. There are also models that operate wireless! https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08QVDGYV2
That reminds me...
I'm getting a colonoscopy in late March.
I'm not looking forward to the day before my procedure.
Wait till you get my age. I had a “plumbing problem”. They shoved some kind of SS shower head down my back door to see (sound waves) what was blocking my front door. That thing freaked the hell out of me! Lesson learned: use enough jelly and you can even park an 18-wheeler in a broom closet. After that thing you definitely need a bidet!
The hesitance of some who have not used one is understandable……I belong to this group years ago but after using it, well, as someone here previously said, the difference is night and day.
Guys, this thing is just as worthy as any nice flashlight you ever own, but just much, much more.
Believe the believers bro!

The prep is worse than the procedure, but for many of us it is better to put one’s self through that than to not to.
I had two friends who kept postponing or completely refusing to have a colonoscopy when it was first suggested to them. The key word there is “had”. Past tense, as in they died from colon cancer.
A bidet won’t prevent that but it sure makes for a nice clean butt.
Any recommendations for a retrofit model?
Boy, I wish there was some way to give a thumbs-up on these posts.

Have had this one for about 5 years now and I am satisfied with it. Nothing fancy but it gets the job done.

First toilet I had it on had shallow bumpers on the seat and would have benefitted from the extra bumpers. Moved it to a different toilet and was not a problem. Put a new seat on the original toilet when I moved it back and it has been fine ever since. (We had an house guest and I had to give up my toilet for a spell;-)

Scary.
Sorry, I meant “upvote”. Keeps from having to make a separate post.
