Well, my package from Ric arrived today. Ordered on 2/29, it shipped out on 3/2, and DHL just delivered it 3/6. All was in great shape.
The order consisted of a DRY with NW tint with step-down and holster, which is the same holster the Ultrafire UF-T70 has. I also ordered a spare step-down driver. The other item was the Aluminum & Stainless Steel CREE XM-L T6 5-mode 2x18650 Flashlight. I only purchased this one for the looks, it reminds me of a flashlight I was never able to afford.
From Ric's description, I was under the impression the NW version of the DRY does not pull as much power as the CW version. However, when checking the tail readings and using Redilast 2600's, I read 4.25a on Turbo. Man that's high. I'm going to have to make the battery carrier mod to this one so I can use some Redilast 3100's. As of now, they are to long and don't fit. On the upside, this NW tint is totally great.
BTW...the Aluminum & Stainless Steel CREE on HIGH mode only pulls .78a....LOL. Still it's bright as is. The Ultrafire UF-T70 is only in the photo for scale purposes.
I could not believe how much smaller and lighter weight the DRY is
compared to the UF-T70.
I was able to mod the battery carrier and install the Redilast 3100's with no problem. Tail readings on Turbo mode dropped from 4.25a using Redilast 2600's to 4.05a with the higher capacity batteries. So that worked out very well.
Comparing this NW DRY with my Ultrafire UF-T70, I'd say they are about even with output. Only the DRY has better color rendition.
