Dry vs the Srk What's your choice and why

Hello guys,

I’m planning of getting an inexpensive, small flooder, 3xml light. What is your choice between the two, and why? (Another unlisted suggestion is fine with me, and not necessarily from the links below)

You might want to take a look at these threads:

I’ll quote myself from that first thread:

’I have both and myself would recommend the Skyray king. It is very nearly as bright compared to the DRYs 30 second Turbo mode, is shorter, and carries 4 cells, so you fit 1/3 extra power in the same size body. I also prefer the side switch, and I like the fact that there is no internal battery carrier. The batteries are also wired in parallel so it is a safer set-up than the DRY.

The only real benefits that the DRY has are that it has more lower modes, an automatic step-down to a more sensible level (so it can be left to light up a room without overheating), and less noticable PWM.

Both have been reliable, but I blew 2 drivers on the DRY when taking tailcap current measurements, so don’t do that with it unless you are extremely careful not to slip. I also had to replace one of the LEDs as it burned out, but that may have just been a freak occurance.

Overall, I would say the King wins hands down if you can find a good one…’ I would now say ‘for under $50’ from a reputable dealer. It’s seems harder to find an original now. So you may need to look into which retailer sells the best version at the best price.

I owned both but sold one of the two. I sold the Dry. The King is much higher quality, felt more substancial yet felt smaller. The 200-300 extra lumens was not enough to keep the Dry.

thanks guys

They are both very bright lights. My dry is quite a bit brighter than my Kings when it's on turbo. But High vs High they are very similar. The DRY is more expensive and it's a fairly old light.

The King is a much better light overall. It is smaller, looks better, side switch, and 4x18650.

Get the King and you won't regret it. You should also buy it from cnqualitygoods/fancyflashlights because they are genuine.

I do not understand their pricing, but FYI…

Will this be as good as what most are saying about the one at CNQ?

Customers have reported concerns because there exists multiple “versions” of this flashlight. While the makers of all versions claim theirs is real, FastTech is now shipping the version that’s reported to be of the best quality and seemingly the most genuine.

Ive owned both… I sold the dry and kept the king
