Exduct Special 5% coupon for BLF members "BLFgiveaway"

No problem I understand that its difficult enough to track and organize, let alone entering people when its not even started yet.

I can find the thread again, will it be under the Deal Alerts section?

Take care.

Gear for Flashlight Carriers will be the subforum.

That's good to know - I had no idea where to look either.

It's easiest just to subscribe to this thread here.

Earlier this week I received two knives that I ordered after winning in last raffle. I chose one srm 962 (got the last one), and also one Enlan EL-01BA, black half serrated blade. Well what can I say. I like the looks of both of them. The 962 with smooth scales is a bit more pocket friendly, and it opens smoothly. However I unfortunately got some blade play mostly horizontal. I now have around 10 knives from China and all previous have less blade play. Anyways, I still like it. It looks robust and well made otherwise.
The Enlan on the other side is a gem with no play at all. It opened a bit less smoothly, but a drop of oil fixed that. Beautiful quality on that one. However, I wonder how long the black anodization will last if heavily used. Feels like the stainless steel version might be better for edc. Thanks again for this raffle.

Too bad the 962 isn't perfect, have you tried to tighten the pivot screw a little? That might help with the blade play... horizontal is easier to fix than vertical. I believe Enlan uses titanium nitride coating on their blades... so they should hold up better than most anodizations that we see on budget lights. Look at this thread for details.

Thanks Vectrex for the info about the titanium nitrate coating. Seems to be quite tough stuff. I also wonder how the serrated part of the blade manage edc usage. I have an srm T01 half serrated knife that I used the serrated part yesterday to cut off a thin plastic strap, and the edges after that wasnt straight anymore. Not that bad, but anyways… It was just plastic I cut. Regarding the pivot screw on the 962 I havent tried tighten it yet. I have to find some suitable tool for that first.

I assume your 962 has the 5 point pivot screws? Maybe this thread helps. The serrations are next to impossible to resharpen for me, so I only order plain edges. Even the sharpest knives will get dull at some point.

Yes it has the 5 point pivot screw. Thanks again for the link. Might try with some needle nose pliers, or with your trick with a fork security bit. Are those readily available at hardware stores?
And regarding serrated edges, I agree, but I just had to have that enlan with it for the looks

At least in Germany they are available in bigger hardware stores... if you take your knife with you, you might be able to test what works best. It's a pity that the knife manufacturers couldn't agree on one standard screw for the bigger knives. 3-point, 5-point and now the new triangular screw... I don't see myself spending $15 on a tool for a $10 knife. 8CR13MoV is the steel used on most of the blades from ED and I noticed that it is more brittle than ... let's say 420 steel... probably due to its higher hardness. So they don't take abusive tasks too well.... but they are very affective slicers.

Because SRM discontinue for these models: 905,962,910 etc,So we have no plan to produce 5 pivot screw tool,

So you now just use a plier instead.BTW,when you try to loose the screw, pls make it hot first, because there is put some glue, you'd better to melt it,then would be easier to loose the screw.

Abt 3-point screw tool,i still waiting for production.i will use it match work with Enlan knives.

Hi! Is there any way to find out how close we are to the next raffle. I'm having trouble deciding what to order and would like to estimate how much time I have to decide (before the next raffle).

afaik 59.86

Hi Kumabear ;-)

This post explains how to log in for checking the actual status yourself.

Don't forget to click on "ALL" in the drop down menu (preset is only "100" visible entries) once you have logged in and if you click on sort by "date" you get a better idea how much time will be left... unless someone buys knives for $900 like in the last raffle. If you want to generate further money for the giveaways you can also use hbombs affiliate links to enter the shop. So you would contribute the maximum for the giveaways later by using the affiliate link and the coupon... it wouldn't cost you 1 dime extra and you later have the chance to participate in the raffles and win something nice.

The information is very much appreciated. Regards, -Bob- (KumaBear)

thx for the update!

Is there still time to be included in this raffle? Thanks in advance for the information and Regards, KumaBear.

The pot for the 3rd raffle is full (I updated post #166), but the pot for the 4th is already at ~$27... within a day.. some people are going crazy with the coupon. So after the raffle is before the raffle. ;-) I will set up a participation thread for raffle 3 today or tomorrow.

Update: The thread is active

I dont get the saying :D

Anyway.. am glad that the pot for raffle#3 is full already. Last night i was thinking to buy something (anything!) only to be able to participate. Quite pathetic i am lol. The closure of participation took away my decision to order something or not. I feel relieved, thanks!! ;)
