been hanging around looking and reading, love the site and now am addicted to some of the great lights, so thanks everyone for writing up some great stuff.
I just got a Fandyfire STL-V6 and put in these batteries https://www.fasttech.com/products/1141000 and they are to big the tail cap has left a small impression from the copper pole in the end of the battery a few mm deep batteries seem ok but it is worrying me.
any ideas how to fix this or if its a common problem got the light from fasttech which I might add are great people to deal with.
Hi, and Welcome. I see what you mean, i just tried my Panasonics in my V6 and it did the same thing. I currently have a pair of Eagletac 3100 protected in mine and they fit without crushing the end of the Battery. Obviously the Batteries are too Long for the Light. I am not sure whether you can adjust the contacts or not, someone else may be able to help you with that. The only thing i can think to do in the meantime is don’t tighten it all the way and get a set of shorter Batteries, like the Eagletacs. They usually have the Dimensions of the Batteries on the page where you purchase them, under description.
Cheers
now I cant get the thing to work, it didn’t work straight from the box then I took batts out and put them back in and worked then took them out again and it doesn’t work again, from what I can see the switch is not getting any power, I tried unprotected batts they don’t work either.
so out of the box it didn’t work so emailed fasteck and fingers crossed they send a new one and I will take your advice and get batts that fit.
my only problem is why don’t they put that some batteries don’t fit in the add for the V6???
Your Welcome Buddy. There is a post on here that helps you to diagnose light faults, might be worth trying to see if they only need to send you a switch. Regardless Fasttech will look after you, if you you ever have an issue they will jump through Hoops to get you sorted. Spent an obscene amount of money there.
Cheers
will check that out see if I can see whats wrong with it, wanted to go out and play with it tonight guess I will have to wait a bit, yep got ya with spent plenty at fasteck they have been great so far so am sure they will help me out.
pretty much my got to place service is what makes great companies great and poor ones poor makes all the diff hey
well keep an update on here sure I will be up and running soon!
I am running 2 x 18500 Trustfires in mine. They are shorter, which makes the light shorter. I haven’t had any problems. You can test the light by running one 18650 in it to see if that works (if you have a C8 body to screw into it). I did have the first one I ordered die when the driver suddenly went. It can happen.
That light you got is a great light. Truly remarkable throw. FastTech should get you going fast.
Hi again, you could check to see whether the switch is screwed in all the way. Underneath the TailCap where the contact is you will see that there is 2 small holes opposite each other, if you use long nosed Pliers to insert in the holes you can tighten and loosten by rotatating the switch or remove it to test it further. Could be the switch is just too loose.
If you’re then convinced it’s just the Switch, you could just get Fasttech to ship you a new Switch.Hope this Helps.
Cheers.
Well, there’s a first time for everything, even i had to get one right eventually. Guess it shows i must be learning to. Pleased it all worked out well for you. It’s a bit of a Bummer when you get a new Toy and you can’t play with the Damn Thing. You’ll Love the V6.
Cheers, Have Fun and You’re Welcome
PS: What part of Aus are you from ??
no don’t be so sure, I spent a lot of time on the sunny coast, great place but ended up back in NSW , one day like to get back , but never know what happens hey.
so I probably go for NSW this year just to go for the underdog, gee if Qld win again they might have to call the fight off to many 10 counts LOL
This has me a little worried, I just bought this light and a bunch of the Panasonic 3100mAh Protected cells from Fasttech and they list them as 69.7 mm long. Don’t think they’ll fit
Don’t use them or you will crush the Negative end of the Battery, if you have no choice then don’t screw the cap on all the way until you get some that fit. Apparently Trustfire Protected fit (Fasttech) and i have Eagletac Protected 3100’s in mine so they fit.
That i don’t know, but i wouldn’t be risking it, it is easier to just get a pair that fit and not risk Damaging the Light. Tampering would also void any Warranty. I would be checking to see that the Tail Switch is screwed in all the way, though that wont solve the problem.
