I got my Skyray STL-V2 (basically similar to your STL-V6) and I must say, the tint is one of the nicest in my collection. It’s very close to neutral white and is great for detailing foliage etc. Paid more than you did, though… 
that is a nice light you have there. I still need to save up some $ and get one, but it’s definately on my list…
the XML emitter itself is a great thrower, in a proper reflecter such as this light has. The reason there aren’t more quality XML throwers is due to the emitter’s different focal length, that necessitates a purpose built XML reflector. put a xml in a standard one size fits all reflector, and you get less than spectacular results, but this light clearly has a purpose-built reflector calibrated to the XML’s unique focal length.
