FastTech Convoy brand flashlights

At first look, they seem the be the same. But the tailcap have different design (knurling on intl-outdoor flashlight) The intl-outdoor does not seem to have a place on the middle body where there could be a “brand name”. Convoy light does not have a screw in bezel.
Size wise, the lengt and head-size are different. BUT, they do look very much the same. Maybe the hosts are manufactured by the same people?

Maybe the OEM factories have some base models and can do slight variations on them, to please customer demand?

It is easy to believe so when looking at the lights…
Of course, just speculation… But these Convoy lights do seem to have many similarities with some other hosts.

Either way. The Convoy lights from fasttech seem to offer the most bang for your buck.

Convoy M1 @ Aliexpress 39,80$

Convoy M2 @ CNquality goods, 31,50$+

As we know… Great prices @ fasttech

i decided to order just two lights, the c8 and the m1. i was gonna order the m2 also, but the beam looks identical to the m1, but the m1 looked slightly brighter and a bigger flood/spill pattern.

I've purchased an S3 w/U2-1B and an M2 w/U2-1B and they are being shipped. I will review them once they arrive. Fasttech is also sending me an M1 w/T6-3C for review along with my order.

While I was placing my order I also had to add the Nitecore EC1 I've been drooling over since I suggested they carry it. $38 is the cheapest price around on what could be the best and smallest non-twisty 16340 light you can get. Very excited for it! Full review to come on that one also.

Good joice JohnnyMac, Specially the EC1. I have got one of these too, just when they came out. Not for the same price though.

All thanks to you, my friend! :8)

Looking forward to it!

I will wait with placing on order on a light. My “test order” was placed 17.01. Was not shipped until 22.01. (Wallbuys was faster despite their huge sale…)
Fasttech also failed to reply to me about the switches on Convoy lights in time, they said they would come back to me on monday, still waiting and I have asked them again. I was hoping they would confirm if the M1 had a reverse clicky, and Convoy lights in general. I was very eager to share the “official” information with you guys, and to place an order, but not too impressed anymore. They are not that “fast”…
Most likely the light have a reverse clicky, but you never know 100% for sure. Hopefully they will add better switch specs on the Convoy lights.

Yes yes EC1! My edc since I got it. Can’t beat the features or throw for it’s size. It even fought off a tough challenge when I traded for a D25C twisty, but the Nitecore still won.

Glad to hear this from both of you. Now I’m really excited to get this light!

OH YEAH!

Awesome pic, Tecmo! Very sexy…you’re killing me with all the great talk about this light. :stuck_out_tongue:

Have they arrived? Reviews out soon?
Would be nice to see comparison beamshots of M1 vs M2 vs a P60 light.

Just got my M2 host today. It came with 2 bezels, one flat and one crenulated.

Sorry to bump this thread, but I’m new to Convoy flashlights and quite puzzled by all the different variations their lights come in. If I understood well, they are all throwers with no firefly mode and no floody beam. Is that right?

I’ve been happy with using Convoy hosts. That way I can use a higher quality QLite NANJG 105C 3.04A driver that says it has a 5mA low mode, and a better Noctigon MCPCB. I believe I read that some models are better than others for how floody the beam is.

The Convoy s3 and s2+ are extremely floody.

The S2 and S3 are definitely floody OTF. The C8s have a nice bright spill too.

The last gen S2s are shipping with XM-L2, while the C8s they have listed are the new 2014 revision with XM-L2s.

Thanks. Now if you guys could advice where to buy it. Fasttech doesn’t seem to carry the XM-L2 version. I want the 3 modes version in neutral white that would accept Fenix 2600 mAh batteries.

PS. Is there somewhere any explanation for the many mA variations, the T4, T6, U2… and 1B, 5C, 7C… (tint?) I don’t quite understand?
