Flashlight holder

I’ve been needing this for a long time, i work on my car in a parking garage, and frequently need a third hand, so i built one, rather basic, but it has adjustable height, and can even be set to illuminate under the car
I am currently using a couple zip ties to hold the flashlight in place, i have not yet come up with a reusable way to anchor the light

Wouldn’t a headlamp be easier?

DX sell a tripod mount for flashlights or anything of similar diameter.

Or you’re too cheap to buy a tripod:

I use the DX flashlight clamp (it's a popular item, many have it!) either mounted on an original gorillapod (magnetic) or mounted to a very strong table clamp.

The suggested DX swivel tripod for flashlight is a good unified solution, very nice! Not as flexible and versatile as a gorillapod but optimal for those who need exactly this and not a more flexible holder solution (like the gorillapod or table clamp).

Or you could use a wired working lamp pluged to the car…

You could use Velcro strips.

The 2-sided Velcro strips typically used for cord management are very handy.

Alternately, the coated bendable ties (think giant wire ties) could also be used for this.

What about a 3/4” x 3/4” x 6” ledge stuck underneath the flashlight and a big rubber band that goes around each end of the light and around the back of the flat plate?

If that description made no sense, say so and I’ll draw it.

I don’t want a problem with a headlamp falling off and damaging itself or the paint.
Some of these light anchor ideas are very good, the tripod one from DX is something i never knew existed!
