Well….since I’ve already got Convoy S12 3xsst20 3000k and I like the beam flood, I was wonder: how about 3xXhp50.2 3v 5000k,?hmmm? I would expect increase in both Intensity(CD) and Lumen…this thing could be amazing.

I suppose if 3x XHP50.2 (5000k) flashlights, we can refer to the Nightwatch NS53A or the Lumintop FW21 Pro as examples, but these 2 flashlights drive the LEDs hard and get extremely hot very quickly when on Turbo mode, based on Internet user comments about them. The upcoming Astrolux EC03 also uses 3x XHP50.2, with a bit more sane claimed 6700 lumens (EC03 lists a 5000k option, while the NS53A and FW21 Pro appear to be available only in 6500k).
However to have increased intensity (CD), I think 3x SST40 5000k (like the Nightwatch NS43 with 3x SST40 5000k) will have a more throwy beam than 3x XHP50.2.
I would think that 3- xhp 50.2 could be made quite throwy, but the problem with EC03’ s lack of throwiness will be not the 50.2 vs sst-40 as much as its shallow reflectors. If there was space to make these reflectors deeper/ longer, I think the light could have a decent throw, sort of similar to sofirn q8 or wild trail d80v2 with xhp 50.2

6700 lumens…I wonder which batteries 21700/18650 would generate those claim output? Any clue?
I use the Molicel P42a in all of my 21700 lights.
