✌ FREEME - ASTROLUX FT03 Mini OSRAM NM.1 510lm WRGB LED options USB-C 18650/ 18350 Flashlight - ALIVE

Interested !

too bad about the aux leds

Group buy coupon is expired.

Which model?

Osram red beam black body.

I need to request from BG again.

No longer interested. Saw that the convoy c8+ was available with red osram so I ordered that instead. Thanks anyway.

Anyone tested the idle/parasitic drain of the FT03-Mini Osram?

I left battery inside the flashlight (I got a white/green/red) for a few weeks, and it got drained to below 3v.

In one of the FT03-Mini Osram flashlight, it killed the battery (drained to 0.0v and tried to ‘reactivate’ the battery but this time, it doesn’t get revived — this battery was a not-that-good quality battery though). On the other FT03-Mini Osram flashlight, the battery drained to 2.9v (this is a better quality battery) and in the last unit, the battery drained to 1.x volts (was able to revive this battery, it’s also a not-branded battery).

some comments:

  • it looks like “poorer-quality’ batteries get drained to below 2.0v, while the better quality battery (this was an older/used-much VTC4) tested to just below 3.0v when I removed the battery from the FT03-Mini Osram flashlight.

- I measured the parasitic drain on each FT03-Mini Osram, and it tested 4mA!

(for comparison, I measured the parasitic drain of FT03-Mini SST40/XHP50.2 which uses Anduril and has lit-up aux-LEDs (set to ‘Low’), and these use around 0.1mA idle)

Yikes! 4 mA. Not surprising though. This looked like something someone created new on their own. Just by the choice of MCU made no sense because the majority of drivers we see from China use PIC's and this one is completely different.

Edit: Yep, confirmed. I measured 3975 uA on the OSRAM version, and 122 uA on the FT03 Mini SST-40 version running Anduril. Both have a switch LED on at about the same brightness, but the SST-40 is also running the LED's on around the SST-40. And of course Anduril periodically wakes up to do the LVP checks. It looks like the OSRAM version keeps that 8051 based MCU always on regular power, never sleeps.

This driver has to go.

freeme -- can you mention this to them? This driver has a major parasitic drain problem. It appears they don't put the MCU into sleep when power is OFF. We can't leave a cell in the light for any extended period of time.

A 3000 mAh cell would drain from full in 750 hours, or 31 days. If it was 1/2 drained already, then only 16 days. The FT03 Mini NM1 light drains a cell on standby about 32 times faster than the Anduril based FT03 Mini's.

Anyone have instruction manual for the nm1 UI? I’m trying to configure the button led light brightness. Thanks in advance

FT03-Mini with Osram NM1 uses a simple UI (not Anduril). I don’t think the button LED brightness can be configured (unlike in Anduril, which is used on the FT03-Mini with SST40 or XHP50.2 LEDs)

The simple 1-page “instruction sheet” for the FT03-Mini (with Osram NM1 LED):

thank you. Looks like nothing about the button aux led’s control… wierd. I swear when I first got the light the LED’s on the switch button were bright, now their in what looks like a “low” setting… No big deal just wanted to see if there was ay way to change them. Ive tried 3x clicks, 4x, 5x, etc…
