The S43 manual is the same.
Someone else mentioned the same thing[Thin Lens causing it] a page or Two back.
I totally agree. When I first used it I looked at mine at eye level and I swear I saw the lens slightly pulsating !
I best describe it as a “Clicking” noise, like after a cars engine is shut off and the engine settles Or baseboard heaters where the metal coils make that same sound.
This was during my tail stand Turbo run time test, its first use. Took it on the trail that night[Tuesday] and heard nothing, even put it to my ear for a minute. Did a 10 minute turbo test when I got home to see if I could hear it,nothing again. Last night used 60 minutes[turbo] 3 X 20 min. each Orb./Vapcell 26650,heard nothing.
Either it go so quiet or it disappeared,do not know how or why,no worries,it is a non issue even if it comes back. :sunglasses:
So you are running yours full turbo with the temp. control turned off?
I think this light has a TIMED STEP DOWN[That is what I disabled] and a Thermal step down.
This light does NOT get hot. Now, it is only April and in the 50’s the last few nights. Still, the handle is not close to being hot like some of my modded lights. My tolerance and preference is different than others. Just an example,Say the light is 120F/48C. I can handle that, others may not.
I have always gone by feel. I have had numerous modded light over the years and run them on TURBO until it is uncomfortable on my hand. then I dial down to low for several minutes and step back up. I still have 4 or 5 of these lights with that kind of use.
2 months from now if the handle gets too hot,I dial down. I will say this, it cools off quickly. During battery change after 20 minutes of use, it was slightly warm and ready for another 20 min. of Turbo! 60 total minutes/3 X 26650’s. :sunglasses:
Good to know it can take it.
I ordered 3 FT03-s right at the start of groupbuy and two NW came to me and one CW. The first NW came about 2 weeks ago. The second about 4 days ago. Both unglued. But today I got the CW which I wanted really to mod and this came glued. Luckily my strength was enough to break it jus I wanted to pay attention to others that the rest of the lights will come glued soon.
And I am not lucky with lens O-rings. First one came protruding to the center of the lens. This one came clogged between lens and bezel.
Where is the QC regarding these lights? Why is Banggood / Atrolux silent about these issues.
u have to accept certain quality flaws i think for this price, not like they will come out with some statement that certain lights are broken etc… i mean they make thousands and more so one in a few hundreds or thousands or so isnt that weird really…
I’ll have to play outside a little more, but I’ve had 2 cool white for a few weeks and received a NW this week. indoor ceiling bounce the difference is not really that noticeable. If I grab one of the lights without looking at it, I can’t tell which I have. I do have a NW GT mini that seems much warmer than the NW FT03…
Still waiting for someone brave enough to risk de-doming his NW SST40 and see how it will affect throw and tint…
Highly unlikely. All factory lights using NarsilM that I’ve seen used the Temperature as default, not Timed.
Exactly, this seems to be a common practice with online warranties for lots of stores. They give you the runaround, make you jump through hoops all in hopes that you give up. It helps them save money. The key is just to not give up. Don’t accept small credits, etc… Make sure they do a proper warranty, send a proper replacement part or issue a proper refund.
Just noticed they also forgot the insulators from screws. The wire solderings were higher and pushed the centering plastic a bit sideways. This is my soldering flat and now the beam perfectly centered.
Yes, I did something similar, but even sanded down the centering plastic.
Jason - pretty sure the Q8 was released with a timed step down as default. We couldn't do temperature because the ATTiiny85's temp sensor varied so much from unit to unit, would have been inconsistent from piece to piece unless the factory custom calibrated each light.
My de-domed CW emitter went pop after a few seconds on turbo. Have been reading on mtnelectronics that the max for de-domed is 8A even with good heatsinking. So who knows!

Freeme, I’d like to buy a second NW. Are you still offering the group buy discount? If so, pls message me!
Really?, I disagree.Look at the user manual.
It does NOT matter what they use as default. I Disabled AUTO STEP DOWN[TIMED] NOT Temperature.
I DISABLED 1. Auto step down. NOT 2. Temperature step down.
Setting #3-AUTO STEP DOWN- 1.DISABLE
2.TEMPERATURE[Default]
Could be wrong, looks like to me the choices are :1 - disable all step down, 2- temp step down or 3- timed step down. No?
I think they should’ve made the light a bit more expensive to cover QC costs, like 35-40$US with a coupon.

That’s a light I don’t have.
All these newer lights seem to use temp and they of course can vary a lot. It’s always recommended to reset the temp limit. I made a video just for this.
