You might like to know also that the new Efest Purple IMR18650 3000mAh cells match or best the Samsung 30Q, 35A, LG HE-2 and Sony VTC5 cells, even with the high capacity. In a triple or quad, the spread between the Efest and the Samsung 30Q is amazing.
I was told about a new place called imrbatteries.com that’s in Houston Texas, they have a wide assortment of cells, including the hard to find Sony, as well as the new Efests. I just got my first package from them today with free battery boxes and even a free 6 cell holder from Efest, in a pretty purple that matches the cells. Great prices, quick shipping, nice find.
Thanks!
Hi Dale,
Can you kindly suggest a replacement Reverse Clicky Switch.
This Forward Clicky Switch is not to my liking and mine always starts on high, which has become an instant solution to get blind for a few seconds.
Product link will be useful since I am no modder.
Arrived today in UK- very pleased, compares favourably with my M3XS-UT. 2 x Enerpower 18650 3400mAh fit snuggly and produce much light.
Many thanks Robo for all your time and effort.
The UI is in the driver, not the switch, so it will start on ‘hi’ no matter which switch you use.

I got mine a few moments ago.
Honestly, I am a bit disapointed.
The machining is flawless, feels very nice and the prints are both centered well.
But the hotspot of the 20€ cheaper Convoy L2 (new) is half the size, if you use a XP-L Hi.
Also, the LED isn’t centered very well, so the corona is not the same all around the hotspot.
I will try to fix that - but for a $60 light, that’s not what I thought it will be.
Yours is the first I have heard any kind of centering problems with and I am sure it is an isolated incident.
I sent you a PM also
Oops !
my mistake, I thought it has memory.
I got the new purple EFEST 35A 3000 mAh here: liionwholesale.com-efest-imr-18650-3000mah-35a for $7, 30Q's for $6.75, SONY VTC5 for $9. Their shipping costs are reasonable too, as least for me. Two orders so far with them - very happy, best prices I could find on EFEST's and SONY's.
On the reverse clicky switch, I de-soldered the forward clicky and soldered on a small Omten style switch in it’s place. This light has the large square switch body, like the one’s Solarforce uses, I don’t know of any of those that are reverse action.
Is there an easy way to fix the driver into high only? This will be mounted on a rifle eventually with the pressure switch. I’d like it to be high only. If you release pressure on the switch and press it again the mode jumps to the next lowest mode. It’s not ideal for this type of use.
IIRC the mode change is fed through a ‘bleed down’ cap so that after enough power is drained from it, it reverts to normal start-up; ie Hi mode. With mine this happens after 6 seconds but not by 5 seconds post shut-down. So once turned off, I’ll have to wait ~6 seconds for it to come on in Hi again. In a hunting situation I don’t see that as a problem unless one’s finger slipped from the switch momentarily when activating the light.

Thanks to DB Custom and Tom E, for mentioning the Efest purples and the info for US resellers in order to purchase them.
I came home from vacation yesterday and found a well wrapped package from China waiting for me. A few minutes later I was in the back yard lighting up the trees like daylight — only brighter 8) . Even my wife was impressed. One nice flashlight. Thank you.
You kinda just hit the nail on the head. If your hand slips off the grip or if you have to adjust your gri,p the light will jump modes when you don’t want it to. It also doesn’t work well for some tactical drills that require blinking the light to make yourself a harder target to track.
I’m sure something can be done to make this single-mode but I’ll leave those answers to the more experienced folks here. I’m still low on voltage in that area but I’m learning!
Phil
Being silly here, but wouldn’t it seem likely that if your finger/hand could slip off the switch of the light while mounted on the rifle, then it would be just as easy to slip and shoot your MIL? Just sayin… scary thought that someone holding a gun can’t control the light switch.
Would it safe to use Samsung INR 30Q in this light? I know it is unprotected. But it was said that INR is a safer lithium. What is the best protected battery for use in this light? Thanks ![]()
30Q no problem. As long as u take the batt out after low voltage protection kicks in. I’m using protected 26F. So far no problems and it’s really good runtime.
Thanks Wrath…
