I got mine today at last - wow! Awesome light! thanks Robo for all your hard work, I am very happy indeed! ![]()
On a âtacticalâ rifle the light is rarely on for more than a few seconds at a time. Itâs more of turn light on, see what you need to see, shoot, turn light off, move, repeat. Having just one mode is advantageous for this type of use. Quite a number of tactical lights are one mode momentary only lights for this reason. Itâs also a possibility that you might have to take your hand off the gun for some reason.
I see, so the ArmyTek Barracuda would work well thereâŚ. with the head loose the tail switch runs through modes but no turbo. Lock the head down and itâs Turbo only.
So for some of you guys, the ability to set Turbo only and have a single mode operation might be quite nice, almost a necessity really.
We know a single mode is possible with LED lights, so who is going to be the first to make that happen reliably to this light without loss of performance or runtime?
Phil
Canât wait to compare it with the Javelots⌠![]()
This is my first experience with Maxtoch, but unlikely the last. Iâm very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the light itself and the extras, especially considering the price.
For any future GBâs with Maxtoch, Iâm most certainly in!
And Thank You Robo for making this happen!
Finally received my sniper yesterday, and I am very impressed with the built quality of this light. Deep black anodized finish is perfect, logo is straight, glass and reflector flawlessâŚ
Interesting is that I have tried 4 sets of batteries, all brand new and fully charged, Panasonic 2900PF, LG HG2, Samsung 30Q, and Samsung 25R, and results from tailcap reading are all the same ! 2,41 Amp. at start and after 15 â20 seconds 2.35 Amp. There is no differences in reading at all !
Also I am a bit disappointed with tint, and driver lack of instant memory last mode.
5-6 seconds since off to go to HI again is a bit too long for me,tint is pure cold white V2 1A my guessâŚ
Anyway I am happy to own one of this unique BLF TE,
and want to thank you again Robo for all your efforts about this deal !
Best
NikolaS
Dammit! I wasnât able to go and get beamshots against my other lights today. Had to send parents to the airport. Maybe tmrâŚ.
Wrathbringer27 do you mean this lightâs

Just some little show off, from last night battery charging timeâŚ.

Yup! Those 3!
Will ya just look at how that Convoy L2âs matte finish ano stands out! Gotta love a good Convoy light, and that one is one of the best! The capacity of 2 cells in a single cell light, always a good idea to have one like that for those long lasting power outages. ![]()
Last mode memory? There seem to be quite a few complaints about last mode memory not being a feature of this light. I donât get it.
This has always been listed as a light that starts in High, for the hunters. As such, how could it have last mode memory? Anyone reading the specs on this light knew this straight up, so if the light doesnât function otherwise, why purchase it looking for a more standard operation?
Anyway, the Sniper works as expected, is as light weight and small as possible while maintaining a decent reflector to get the job done. We got the perks of a DTP mcpcb and premium emitter with a factory tweaked driver set-up on a really well built light. Hard to go wrong there.
I am not complaining, just saying it would be better that it always start on HI straight from off, wrong expression when I said memory modeâŚ
Sometimes 6 seconds can be long if you need instant maximum brightness more then once ![]()
Ah, I see what youâre saying⌠it needs to reset to start mode quicker.
Iâll check mine and see how much delay it has, some have mentioned about 2 seconds while otherâs have said 5 or 6âŚ
Could be why they used a forward clicky, perhaps using the pressure switch makes it easier to cycle through, or like in my case swapping in a reverse clicky.
Edit: I realized right after I sent that that it didnât make sense. Maybe they didnât intend for it to be easy to cycle through the modes, with the forward clicky and a certain mindset it wouldnât be likely to be turning it off/on quickly, so perhaps they misjudged what was needed? Wonder if that can be adjusted with a capacitor change or something? HmmmmâŚâŚ
That is exactly what I meant, that capacitor need to much time to dischargeâŚ
If someone have solution,I would love to hear
I was just going to post that. $35 flashlight really stands out in that lineup, impressive. Makes it tough waiting to decide between the L6, L2, or L2 with 2S tube.
Are there Tailcap measurements?
Mine runs on 2.5A - so that would be around 20W without driver-loss.
Nice ![]()
Lets bother some neighbors, those are from second floor about 100 feet to the grass
BLF A6 3D 4.8Amp on turbo

CONVOY L2 stock 3C tint,and 3 Amp

BLF TE Maxtoch 2.4 Amp at tailcap

EagleEye X6 new one xp-l hi 3.6Amp

Acebeam K40 stock

And finally SD75 from Lumintop

That Convoy really stands out, cant wait to put some xp- l hi with LD2 driver, but canât find nowhere V3 2B since they are all sold out :_(
Haha thanks Nikola! Is that K40 or K40m?
Its K40M my favorite among all. Pics are taken with mobile phone, too cold outside so just a quick shots from windowâŚ
Shining a thrower at 33 yds is still whitewall hunting. Open em up, find something out at 300-400-600 yds to light up!
(Thatâs 1800â, not 100â)
I wonder how far hunters are willing to shoot, at night, with a Sniper mounted on the barrel? 100 yds? 200? And I also wonder what exactly theyâre hunting at night with a flashlight, cause here thatâs called spotlighting and carries heavy fines.
