I’m looking for a decent, inexpensive 1000 lumen (or brighter) flashlight. I’ve seen a number of various brands and vendors from China and would appreciate some suggestions from the experts.
I like that, looks to have a good heat dissipation, essential for performance and life of the led
less of 17$ with coupon RETAILMENOT10OFF
I advise you Dinodirect there are conflicting opinions, but in my experience they are good
…and probably no1 already have that flashlight maybe you will do a review? xD
on the other side KD’s C8 is well tested is a pro but also a bit boring on my eyes xD
That looks very nice. I was following another thread here about the TF-3T6 and it seems that when researching for one inexpensive bright light my search leads me to 4 others.
The XML led is used for most high powered led lights. And when driven hard you can only get max 850 lumens. So, just look at inexpensive single XML lights. You just have to narrow it down to length of reflector pretty much, whether you want a lot of throw or just flood.
TF-3T6 is a triple XML is 2/2,5 times brighter but the price is ~40$
If you want more of 1000 lumen u need a multiled indeed
monoled can in the best give 900 lumen
For the brightness factor multi led would be fine. Something around the $30 price range give or take $10 bucks (if possible). That sst-90 looks sharp but way out of my price range.
Ditto others… you’re not getting 1000 Lumens from a single XML. Its just not possible given the efficiency of this LED in its current build. Then when you factor in reflective and refractive losses you’re no where close to 1K OTF.
TR-3T6, SR king and TR-J12 will do around 2000 OTF. But they are smaller reflector designs that will flood more than they throw IMHO. These lights will easily do 1000L OTF, but will land you in the $40-65 range. So they are not exactly affordable IMHO.
There are some single SST50 and SST90 lights (TR-J10) for example in the $60-130 that should land you above 1000L. But their performance is largely undocumented on BLF, and these emitters are generally lack-luster performers when under-driven.
Good catch on the battery type. I was going nuts trying to find a charger for the 26650 battery and figured I’d have to default to an 18650 light. The everbuying.com site claims free shipping and I’d get the batteries and charger there too. The TR-3T6 is advertised on amazon.com but it would cost more there and I’m wondering if paying a little more might reduce some of the shipping time hassles and I know amazon is good with returns.
If you want faster shipping Tmart is one place that has a pretty decent following here on BLF. They have a warehouse somewhere in the Eastern US, so if the have the item in stock then it usually ships much faster than over-seas sellers. The exception would be if they are out of stock and need to order from their supplier overseas.
IMHO it can be worth the extra $$ paying more for faster shipping, that does not have to pass through customs.
