Grip tape or similar for Convoy T6

Despite knurling, I find T6 to be a little slippery when using the overhand grip when your palm is sweaty. Is there a mod that can improve the grip?

I was thinking of a racket or bicycle overgrip tape, but it’s not adhesive. Just tried Tesa cloth tape, but it’s still slips.

Another idea was using the soft half of Velcro, but I’m not sure it will improve things.

I’ve added the big rubber bracelets like WWJD or walk for breast cancer ?
A couple wraps creates a nice cigar grip and adds some color to your light .

You see now why I rubber band my lights? Flashlights have become terrible with lack of grip. Alternatively, you can do gun grip take off of Amazon for about $9 a pack. I do that with cellphone cases, too.

Howbow those sandy/gritty pads that you stick onto linoleum stairs and the like?

Cut to shape, wrap around. Actually, pre-bend to a smaller diameter than the light, then stick it on.

I use anti-slip outdoor stair tape for my handgun grips and a few flashlights and it works great. I just cut it to size and it sticks extremely well to what ever I out it on.

I used a section of inner tube on one of mine to fit better in a 2 fish lock block. Worked great too.

Anyone remember this puppy, the Imalent LD10?

Slick as soapy glass, perfectly cylindrical, hard-to-press rear switch, probably comparable in size to a TS10.

Nice light with the digital display and all, but man, what an ergonomical nightmare to use. Unless you were playing with glue and your hands were still sticky, you had no hope of using that light.

A bit of a pocket shredder isn’t it?

I’ve never had a problem with damaging pockets so the tape I got must not be all that rough. I also place it next to e-switches where the other side of the body is the charging port cover. That makes it much easier for me to locate the switch by feel.

How about this one? Tommy Tape

It’s self-fusing silicone tape without adhesive. If you don’t need it or want to change it, you can cut the tape without leaving adhesive on the flashlight at all.

I’ve used this type of tape on a number of water and drain pipes in a few of our rentals and it does a great job!

I haven’t needed grip tape in a while, but when I did, I was using this stuff called “vet wrap”.

Are these different from human self-sticking sport wraps like 3M Coban and similar?

I havent used those sport wraps, but if it’s dense, almost like a plasticky foam, then yes, very similar.

That should help you find ‘it’. :joy:

That’s just creepy.

I haven’t tried this stuff out yet, but I’ve seen it a lot on Aliexpress:

I just picked 3 random stores/listings, but if you search on ‘grip tube’ on Aliexpress, you get loads of offers with (probably) better prices.

The advantage of shrink tube is that it can’t unwind and the fact that this also has some texturing on it (there are different patterns being offered) might make that this could work quite well.

Also a lot of different diameters available, so it should fit a big range of flashlight sizes.

EDIT:

I just found out that there even is a ‘glow-in-the-dark’ version of it:
