Can you share revision 1.7 of the device definition for TestController? I only got 1.5 available.

@HKJ Right now I’m using TC from 2024-12-11. Do you have a schedule for a new release?

Hi

I got V1.5 from 22 dec for S4000Pro

I plan on releasing a new TC when Enova sends me the final definitions.

You can get the latest TC.jar file from here: http://lygte-info.dk/pic/Projects/TestController/TestController.jar
That link is valid when a test version of TC exist and one does at the current time.

The TC with full charger control has been released.
The download link is: https://lygte-info.dk/project/TestControllerIntro%20UK.html
Special thanks to HKJ for his valuable support!

The latest .43 firmware has been officially released, and we recommend updating it for an improved experience. If your device is already upgraded to version .42, there is no need to update again.

Hi BLF:

We are planning to launch an upgraded version of the S8000—S8000 Pro—through a crowdfunding campaign. This version will feature:

  • Charging current: 4-5A × 4 channels
  • Discharging current: 2-2.5A × 4 channels
  • Support for Bluetooth and WiFi

If you have any suggestions regarding the crowdfunding campaign or product features, feel free to leave a comment here or share your thoughts with us via email. More details will be announced soon—stay tuned!

Thanks!

Ok, THIS sounds interesting. Maybe 3-4 Amp discharge current on one slot and 2 A on all 4 slots?

How long will these bays be? What’s the max size?

Hopefully more than 75 mm. And better silders in the bays would be also good, the ones from the S4+ are not the best, at least at my samples.

Every reviewer has complained about how hard it is to get batteries in and out. Maybe they can redesign it a little bit.

How about the capacitative touch buttons? Some reviewers have commented that at least at first, they were not very responsive. Has that been fixed?

Yes. They are still touch buttons with all their limitations, but they respond good now.

This sounds great. I agree though, the bays need to be redesigned to allow for longer cells and to make access easier. The moving contacts need to be taller to allow easy access to remove tension when inserting and taking cells out. They should allow good finger purchase above the largest cells that the machine can charge.

The addition of BT and WiFi is very welcome. Hopefully you will have a well designed APP to allow easy changing of settings and to store frequently used configurations and to assign meaningful names to those.

Thanks @SammysHP.

And yes @Mandrake50 - this does sound great. Very promising and since I gather it does/will (?) also charge 1.5AA/AAA li-ion cells it will have at least one very prominent UP on the MC3000. Finally after only 10+ years the Enova Gyrfalcon S8000 Pro will be a genuinely better charger than the MC3000.

Which of the following two options better meets the needs of most users regarding charging and discharging current settings?

Option 1: Charging current 4-5A * 4, Discharging current 2-2.5A * 4
Option 2: Charging current 3A * 4, Discharging current 3A * 4

Additionally, the design you mentioned, “single slot supports 3-4A discharge current, and four slots support 2A discharge current simultaneously,” is also a feasible option.

We appreciate the feedback from reviewers regarding the difficulty of inserting and removing batteries. We will be using a new design to improve this aspect.

Thank you for your attention. In the upcoming release details, we will provide a detailed solution and offer multiple options for users to choose from and discuss.
