The BLF’s rules are simple and few, the reason its such a great place to be.
When unfortunate things like this particular failed GB happen, its not BLF’s responsibility.
However I do feel like the issues arising in this thread are contrary to Rule #9 - Have fun. It hasn’t been much fun being disappointed for those patiently waiting for the Haikelite SC26 (myself included) nor much fun for others reading about the drama and vitriol.
I’m out on both counts, waiting and reading. Refund requested and Unsubscribed.
Same price!? Are they kidding!? Hell, there would need to be a much, much deeper discount to get people interested again. Like 100% discount… Haikelite needs to show a ton of good will after this crap show.
$5700 at $45 per hour is 126.67 hours. He must have billed them for every second he thought about the MT09R. I suspect TA’s bill was far less than that.
Haikelite seems to make a great host, but they have no idea how to build a functioning flashlight. Why there are still supporters of the brand is beyond me.
Terry, you still have a chance to make this right. But I can tell you this there is no one on this forum will ever do business with you again. I thought this is your business, don’t you care about your business and customers?
I believe he made his choice sherman2k.
I tried reaching out to him by on earlier to let him do it the right way. He did not respond. We all may have to dispute this on pay pal. Which will certainly destroy his business…
It’s not to late to fix this and we can back off our dispute, but his company has left a sour taste for many
They do, as long as the driver and UI is more of the conventional variety. I own three (MT07, SC01, SC02), and only have a relatively minor issue with the SC01 sometimes not wanting to stay in Turbo, and stepping down to high. It’s now very apparent that Haikelite is trying to be innovative like Astrolux, but they just don’t have the know how, or resources, to do so.
Also, I don’t think they fully grasp the entire concept of GBs.
unfortunately, people would still buy from him, or any other who did wrong. All they have to do is offer a product at a really low price. That’s really the nature of most people… I said most. People love bargains. Ever see the line at the opening of a store that promises free T.V. sets, free this, free that, to the first comers? People are camping overnight. Ever see an ad on the internet for something free. The ad says until such and such a date, but supply is gone in hours! Or the servers overloaded. The seller didn’t expect this???
curious as to how many Paypal claims have been filed so far? It doesn’t matter, but would be interesting to know
As far as PayPal is concerned, the rules were changed years ago. Now if you don’t have a tracking number, you generally lose any dispute automatically. If the value exceeds $750, you need a signature as well, no signature and the value exceed $750, you lose automatically. Terry is not in a good place in this regard since he cannot provide tracking numbers for any of the SC26 GB orders.
I actually read alot of positive things about other Haikelite products before I bought my first HL product, which was the MT09R. I liked the brand because they try to be innovative as someone mentioned above. Ofcourse, the TA modded MT09R and MT03 is better than any stock HL product by far. I was hoping TA would come up with something for the SC26 since it’s such a nice compact 26650 host.
You realize Terry is telling you this just to delay refunding you any money. As long as you can afford to lose the money, then wait forever. I personally would file a Paypal claim immediately.
