Hi, I’ve been ogling a certain light for a while, something to add a thrower to my collection at a budget price. In short, the smallsun zy-t08.

I was going to wait till either pay day or Christmas to be honest, then toni, my partner suggested I extend my overdraft a little to pick the shopping up on the way home, save turning out again since I’m feeling ill.

Well, as any true flashaholic would, I expended the overdraft enough to get the food in, then added £20 for a gords treat. 0:)

I just hope she doesn’t brain me with it when it arrives……

Small Sun ZY-T08

This one came in yesterday. It’s not a bad light at all. The only negatives I see - the spongy switch, the fairly sharp machining edges just below the switch, and the ringy beam or artifacts around the hotspot. But these are all minor flaws. All in all its well worth the money. The beam is almost identical in brightness to the Small Sun ZY-T13. But it has pretty nice anodizing and machining all in all. It tailstands, and has a nice metal screw in bezel at the front of head. And it has a nice dee…

Small Sun ZY-T08 Vs Fenix TK41

Well I thought that this 2nd T08 I got would compare in throw to the TK41 by looking at beams on the wall. The T08 looks to be brighter on the wall. I am updating this with a better picture from the T08. The hospot is smaller on the T08. I guess I’m going to have to take some more at longer distances. I don't have a problem! I mean, c'mon, you guys are the ones with the problems, not me! I'm totally fine, I mean . . . ok, well maybe I have a slight problem . . . just a slight one . . . I mean I only buy X many flashlights per year month week . . . OK! I admit I have a problem! (But at least it feels better being the company of so many others with the same problem!)

Sounds like your only hope would be an intervention.

Soon you will be flashing in dark corners, closets and alleys. There's not much hope from here and the only way is down to your bottom. Many don't ever make it and when they die of Li-ion poisoning, (from licking batteries to get their fix, when they can't light up), they come back as fireflies.

It's sad to see a fellow member go down the dark tunnel of flashaholism, carrying a dozen lights and a hundred batteries in their poke, but there's not much to do about it, so buy a round for all of us and light up another one!

My wife collects kidrobot art toys. As much as they annoy me sometimes, it does help balance out my flashlights and knives. We all have to hoard collect something, right?
