As the title said, if a flat flashlight come without clip only one side light just like a slate. How can we make it easy for everyday carry?

That said, some people carry their edc light loose in pocket. Having a flat, small, lightweight light works well with that edc method.

SK30 looks like a winner.
St1 looks like it has a lot of compromises.
I’ll hold out on reviews, pricing.

The Sofirn Q8 Plus is out for a while now and from what I can tell, it has sold well and a lot of people where very enthousiastic about it. Maybe it’s an idea to develop a V2 version or maybe a new ‘Q9’? Going for a slightly bigger (and deeper) head and with 8 (or maybe 9?) LED’s. Possibly with domeless leds.
It would be cool if, besides the standard 3x 21700 battery tube, there would be an optional 46800/46950 battery tube available. (The brand Pioneman has done that, as an option for several of their 3x 21700 lights.)

I would also consider looking into a new (slightly bigger) good thrower, with the Luminus SFT-90 LED. It’s a lot cheaper than the “old” SBT90.2, but comes pretty close in performance. Put that in a thrower, think along the lines of the Wurkkos TS30S, but maybe with a slightly bigger head/reflector cup, and you might be able to build an affordable thrower with a lot of reach!

I agree. I would want a new Q8+, and keep it as a flooder. The LHP531’s would be a very decent upgrade (though I don’t know if you could get hold of it since it’s «Simon’s LED»). I would also love a 46800 battery-tube as an option aswell.

ST1 is interesting since I have already a lot of cylindrical flashlights and none flat flashlights.
However I hope the Turbo is not in the normal brightness cycle. If it is, please update it to double click turbo instead.

I’m very keen to see updated SP10 Pro using regulated driver.

I was also thinking of the LHP531’s, given their low Vf and nice tints, but indeed, sourcing them might be an issue.

Simon hasn’t produced one himself, but from what I’ve read, the Pioneman tube also works on the 3X21C and D. (Possibly also on the others, though I’m not sure.) The fact is that the inner space/diameter needed for 3x 21700 is not much different from that of a 46800/46950. The only difference is the way the possitive and negative terminals of the 46xxx battery work, but Pioneman solved that with a special adapter ring and a spring. (Link to that 46950 tube on Aliexpress)

So all in all, an updated version of the Q8+ would be a really cool idea. Would make for some nice competition compared to the 3x21C and Haikelite HK05 or maybe the HK08, although that one might be in a slightly higher league. Would be a cool idea if Sofirn could come up with a light somewhere between those last two.

I think you should bring back and upgrade the SC01 keychain light. Use 519A and provide a longer tube for a 10500 battery.

While personally I would prefer the SK30 for its brightness and conventional replaceable battery, I might prefer the ST1 to give to others due to apparent simplicity and a more unique body design.

As for upgrading another flashlight, keychain lights need improvement! Decent emitter/beam and replaceable battery, while keeping it all as compact and simple as possible.

1. Another vote to bring back the 10180 SC01. 4000k CCT LED (519a would be great), USB C charging. If you wanted to make special edition versions of titanium, brass, bronze, copper, etc I’m sure they would sell well.

An extension tube is a great idea, I’d run a 10440 cell if possible.

2. Bring back the Sofirn HS05, either have a nice efficient driver and andruil or go nuts and shrink it as much as you can and offer it as a right-angle twisty light and change the name.

Please avoid using SST40s and instand install SFT40 or SFT42R.

I prefer the SK30, because the dual rearswitch design seems like a good fit for a tactical light.

I’d love to see an upgraded IF22A with the new SFT-42R led and a buck driver, preferably with 10A to 11A of constant current for a bit more oomph.

I think these two upgrades would make an already popular and versatile model truly amazing - especially if you can get a good (neutral to negative duv) bin of the SFT-42R!

I would make sure the modes are optimized.

For example the IF23Pro has 100, 500, 1300, 4000 lumen which is very well spaced, 100 lumen gives long battery life and is enough to light a room, 500 is great for outdoor walking (though 400 would be fine as well with a bit more battery life), 1300 is excellent because it can do the same brightness till the battery is empty (flat runtime curve) and of course the 4000 is max burst.

So set the modes intelligently, 100, 400, highest stable brightness and then max burst for example. Plus moonlight.

As for preference, both look good, but if by automotive you mean it will not blind others then that is a nice feature i would like to try.
