HURRICANE !

Today’s Special :

Whiskey Soup with Ice Croutons

I have all of my batteries charged , extra propane , ice , water , canned food and all of the other stuff .
This is a serious storm and we are bracing for winds that could far exceed any of the storms of ’04 .

Hope all of our East coast flashaholics stay safe !

My older sister and her family live in Scottsmoor, Florida (in Brevard County).

Their house is all boarded up, and they're hunkered down.

Good luck to the United States East Coast, from the West Coast.

Best of luck, guys.

Intellicast is saying between 110 and 145mph winds. Stay safe. Let us know how things are going when you get power and internet back. This one could wreck cell towers as well. The Governor is saying GTFO Now.

+1
hang in there!

Just talked to my buddy in Venice, FL. which is on Gulf side. They’re gonna ride it out as of today. Hopefully, Mathew goes East.

Jacktheclipper: Hope you are far west in FL.?

LOL. in that case, .might just as well hunker down with a copy of Bogart’s “Key Largo”.

STAY SAFE OUT THERE !!

I am smack dab in the middle of the state .

About 15 miles from Disney World .

It’s gonna get rough .

It’s going to travel straight up where there are houses and condos every 50 feet up the coast. It’s then going to slam into Savanah GA where the storm surge will be ten feet higher than high tide. People are going to die in this one because they won’t evacuate.

Yeah, last I looked, it wasn’t going to be a big deal for NC. But, Florida’s really gonna get it! I wish you weren’t right, RobertB, but if there’s one thing we learn from history, it’s that we don’t learn from history.

My Dad who is 86 lives on Hutchinson Island in Jensen Beach, FLA. on the 15th floor of a high rise, right on the ocean! It is about 1 hour drive North of West Palm Beach.

He called me this morning as he was driving west to the Tampa area where his sister in law lives. My Dad is smart!!

Personally, I think that anyone who lives along the East coast of Florida and is staying,is NUTS!

The Governor said EVACUATE EVACUATE EVACUATE! There is very little time left for that.

Are there any live feeds or webcams of the area that is gonna get hit?

I’m sure there is, but you won’t be able to see anything… There won’t be any power, internet or cell service shortly after this storm hits.

I’m on Long Island, NY Hopefully it doesn’t come this way. All you Florida people, I wish you the best

Good luck to anyone and loved ones involved. Please stay safe.

Best of luck to all.

Yes ofcourse I forgot to say that, good luck to all and may the odds be ever in your favor.

You won’t see anything I promise you bay st Louis had to east eye wall of Katrina where I live the wind gauges broke at slightly over 200mph. All you see is haze pretty much. The water will actually start sand blasting you at that speed. I mean people who had to tie themselves to trees who stayed were covered in blood. Pine needles will stick into glass windows. The doors get about impossible to close if you go outside. When windows get broken the pressure can break your roof off from the inside. I’m 14ft above sea level and the water was over my roof completely.

Serious serious word of advise here. Anyone who stays for this storm who is in storm surge danger do not. I repeat do not go into your attic without a chainsaw or Axe. To many people here drowned in the attic they had no where to go. One guy ruined his hands and punched his way through his roof. You need a way to cut through the roof if you go up there

I’ve rode out plenty of storms but a cat 3 abd higher I’m gone now. If your going to stay stock up on water food and ammunition. Looting is real and shooting on site is allowed. I’ll recap take a chainsaw in the attic make sure it starts and runs and or Axe as back up. 2 don’t die trying to save a pet. 3 if you do end up leaving in the storm surge have small rope or chain with you to tie yourself to a tree to brace onto. You won’t be able to hold yourself.

Under no circumstances try to drive when the water begins to rise you have to ride it out st that point. To many people drowned in their vehicles panicking last minute.
If you get swept with the storm surge, don’t fight it. Its pushing you down the coast in land. You may drift 10+ miles but if you swim against it you will drown. Go with the flow.

Some people will never evacuate and that’s their choice to protect what they own. Looting is rampant its obvious most of the town is gone no one to stop it besides neighbors who stayed. But their are precautions you can take to ensure your survival.

Best of luck to all you folks on the Southeast Coast… it looks like he is coming on hard & strong. :frowning:
Be safe…….

It appears that Florida is going to absorb the brunt of this storm. Best of luck JLC and others near the Southern East Coast. You're in our thoughts.
