The reflector is aluminium, yes.
There is not enough room to put one extra driver into there to still have charging but a different driver and I couldn’t find anything for the used chip.
I was able to do that to other lights, but this one will be impossible.
The cell… it’s still testing, but my charger decided to charge it with 250mA because the internal resistance is so high (255mOhms in the beginning, after several new starts of charging/discharging it’s now at 139mOhms). That tells us that it’s far from being a high drain battery.
I’m looking for a cheap 16340 flashlight to use as host for mods. Preferably which can fit a 17mm driver. The Yemao looks good but it sounds too heavy. Anybody have any recommendations?
Just opened up the battery cap, and on the end I measure an I.D. of exactly 17.00mm on my unit - the driver does not have any retaining ring, so I assume is glued in place, and can be popped out once the mcpcb is removed
Battery still on test, but the internal resistance is too high for it being a usable cell (~120mOhm) (Edit: Measured 4791mAh)
Also the top is dented quite badly (even though the light has two springs), it has been used before I got it so I don’t expect much capacity.
UI:
1 Click: Low - Mid1 - Mid2 - High with memory
2 Clicks: Turbo
3 Clicks: Flashing
All I will do to this light is to change the LED to an LMP LHP73B 5000K - not because it is needed but because I have so much of them here.
Edit: LHP73B fits nicely, beam has no donut or other artifacts
Recently hits our local online shop, looking forward for the outcome after the led swap.
It does have a bigger brother; yemao 98K pro max, larger reflector (close to FT03 pro) and a 18650 and 21700 tactical with similar UI as Acebeam’s L16’s with independent electrical front and tailswitch; yemao A6 and A7
I already had this one in my shopping cart, but since it is essencially the same light, just with a bigger reflector, I didn’t buy it.
Didn’t know about the A6 and A7 - but I have seen similar lights for less money, but since I am a big disliker of dual switches, I won’t spend my money on those lights.
I like the concept a lot! Magnetic tail, adjustable angle, dual CCT (I think), constant current drive, IP67, but a little expensive for a cheap brand. Maybe it’s cheaper elsewhere…
