I got scammed on Aliexpress official Acebeam store [Resolved 05/15]

Definitely reject and let AliExpress decide. It can’t work out worse for you.

Have you purchased a lot off AliExpress in the past? If you have, they can look back at your history and that should help your case if this has never happened before. I always make sure I mark items received when they arrive etc. So if the worst happens they can see I’ve got a good history.

I got $85 refunded from the case I mentioned that happened to me. The seller was shonky and charged me extra for things that were listed as being included, then a part was incorrect (their fault) and they wouldn’t send the replacement until I paid US$1 in freight. Plus the original item arrived damaged from their poor packaging- the metal chassis was bent. I chased it up with DHL who said the seller would need to lodge a claim for compensation- the seller refused to do it. I could repair item, but they wouldn’t give me approval to disassemble the modules to straighten the chassis. It was nightmare.

Just 2-3 orders last months, barely anything. And i havent had to dispute before this is a first time for me do this…

Just reject it. Let AliExpress decide.

I don’t, it’s pretty much the same as most companies recording phone calls, it gives fairly conclusive proof the correct item was packaged. It offers them protection from being scammed, many companies must get back scammed with wrong product claims. It could also indicate that an employees has switched contents after packaging. Once order delivery is confirmed, the video can be deleted.

To me, it sounds like a tactic some sellers on there would use to discourage the customer taking the matter up higher with AliExpress.

This has happened to me many times in the more than 10 years of running my AliExpress store.
The following is my opinion.
First, The seller can’t be a liar.Because this kind of thing is not good for the seller, but will affect the brand image…the seller is also a victim. But anyway, the seller needs to be responsible for this(I’m stating the facts, not sympathizing with the merchants.).
Second.Cainiao Logistics is terrible.it has lost my goods more than once, and often mislabeled them.Sometimes my clients receive a doll instead of a flashlight.

Finally, Cainiao Logistics is a vampire.

As @Simon_Mao has just said, Aliexpress always rule in favour of the buyer, and it’s double trouble for the seller as returned items don’t go back to the seller (correct me if I’m wrong Simon).

I find it hard to believe that Acebeam Official Store would try it on, I think it’s more likely an employee or the courier service have stolen the contents.

I don’t find it hard to believe a Chinese seller will try to offer partial refunds or coupons etc. This is the way they do business, they barter for the best deal. It’s a SE Asia thing.

The day we know how many packages in total “are lost”, only from Aliexpress over only 1 year, no one will believe it, nobody. The mountain of “lost” packages is something that nobody can believe, it is brutal !!! And the amount of money lost, beastial !!!

In my case: I am a buyer since 2018. I never had any problems that affected me. Aliexpress always resolved in my favor, or I have reached an agreement (beneficial for both parties), with the seller. I am a buyer too honest.

Now, more than 1 year ago, everything I buy has the right to return for whatever reason, even because “I don’t need it anymore.” Moreover, if the purchased product is not very expensive, you can stay and they return your money !!! Aliexpress says you are a reliable buyer and you don’t have to return the product. This way of working by Aliexpress does NOT seem to me to be fair to the seller!!!

The only time I wanted to return some sports shoes, the seller begged me that, please, I did not do it because, supposedly, the Aliexpress policy with the returns (from Spain), it is destroy them !!!, as the seller told me. He would never receive the shoes back !!! I do not know if this is or not it is true, but in the end I also reached a good agreement with him.

Finally, now, (before it was immediate) it is much more difficult to contact the seller, I have only been able to contact the seller. Now, many times, when you want to talk to a seller, the system redirects you to a chat !!! Shit!!!

Greetings.

You can contact them via the AliExpress Messages.

Hi Simon. I’ve had a seller (with 100% rating) lie to me, and they were also false advertising goods. They had advertise (in large writing) a limited time upgrade to a better resolution screen on a Ford vehicle entertainment system. I sent multiple questions prior to buying about the upgraded screen- would it fit in my car, would everything work in my car etc. I was told the better screen would fit and all the vehicle systems that were standard fit would also work fine.

So I pay and buy the system - I get a message saying the lower spec screen was part of what was being sent. I immediately said to make sure the better screen would be included- as per my previous messages. Oh, we don’t have any of them. So I ended up agreeing to that lower spec screen. Then a day or two later I get a message that they just found the better screen in the warehouse- it would be an extra US$35. Straight away I said- that was supposed to be part of the original system, so you can included it for free thanks. No, you can have it for US$25 - I reluctantly paid it.

Then it arrives damaged in transit (sent via DHL.) The seller hadn’t packed it carefully enough. They didn’t help, even though I’d done everything through DHL Australia- who said the seller would need to lodge a claim with DHL Hong Kong (after they had accepted the box was damaged in transit by them.) They’d sent everything through the DHL Hong Kong (I’d sent pictures of everything to DHL.) The seller refused to lodge a claim.

They still had multiple listing for that Ford entertainment system- with the upgraded screen offer listed- when I lodged the claim with AliExpress.

After multiple bad experiences my trust level of most sellers on there is zero.

BTW I have purchased from your AliExpress store multiple times and wouldn’t hesitate to again. You’re definitely not part of the problem.

False propaganda is common. For example, you can see a 999999999 lumen flashlight and a 9900mAh 18650 battery on many e-commerce platforms. Due to the fierce market competition and the lack of professionalism of the staff of the e-commerce platform.Sellers no longer consider the potential value of integrity in order to obtain orders. But that’s what communities are for. Other users will share their shopping experience and product experience on the community.

Yeah, you’re right. Aliexpress never show the details to the buyer. This has led many buyers to mistakenly believe that the goods will really be returned to China. In fact, the goods will be returned to AliExpress’s local warehouse. If the merchant does not take the goods within a certain time, AliExpress will destroy the goods or auction the goods. The money from the auction goes to AliExpress. At the same time, the merchant also needs to bear the logistics cost of returning the goods to the warehouse and the cost of quality inspection.
AliExpress uses merchants’ money to gain reputation for itself. To make up for the loss. The sellers will raise the price of the product. If the competition in a certain industry is very fierce, sellers will reduce the quality of products on the premise that the price remains unchanged. Some sellers do not want the price of the product to rise, nor do they want the quality of the product to decrease. then he can only leave the e-commerce platform. Whichever of these three outcomes. For buyers, They will find it difficult to buy quality products.

Yes, I know that’s common (also on other platforms like Amazon.) With that screen though, it is physically different in appearance - so they couldn’t get away with it. I reported the false advertising to AliExpress, but I don’t think they were too interested (I could be wrong.) Here’s the item I bought, with my feedback on it, and they’re still listing the Sync 4 screen upgrade for free in large red fonts.

Edit: their 100% positive review score has taken a hit

There seem to be a lot of Chinese sellers on Amazon AU and they’re selling mains powered products that don’t meet the required standards. Like I’ve got a 240V (Australian spec) powerboard from China and it claims to have surge protection and over current protection. I was suss about the “over current” so pulled it apart. There’s nothing in the way of a circuit breaker for the over current, and there also wasn’t surge protection. They also claimed it could handle 13 Amps at 240V- with all the outlets daisy chained using only 0.75mm2 wire. That’s plain dangerous. The USB (6 outlets) also claimed one USB C PD 45W outlet- that was BS as well. I checked them with a tester and they were all limited to 15 Watts. Amazon don’t seem interested. It’s going into the bin as it’s not safe to use.

It all makes me very wary about buying products from China.

Dispute progress
Appearance not as described Valid
Judgement from AE Valid

It seems shares my opinion so i chose that i accept full refund and hopefully they will give a final decision on this.

No, that is precisely the option that in many cases no longer works, is no longer available. Before I worked in all cases where I wanted to talk directly to the seller, now it is no longer … (I am a black belt 8 dan in Aliexpress, I have too much experience …).

So, this is consistent with my initial message. Now, if all those are the conditions by Aliexpress, in addition to being almost slave conditions, the truth, I still wonder where the business is for honest and careful vendors with the products they sell in Aliexpress !!! (But also for dishonest sellers. The real cost of products must be almost zero !!!) :scream:

Greetings.

This is why Simon of Convoy Flashlight Store started:

This is a much nicer shopping experience and it’s what we should all be doing, approaching vendors individually and getting good and personal service rather than the crazy street market that’s AliEx.

Edited: I’d thought he’d closed his AliEx shop.

1 Thank

Simon’s store is still open (Convoy flashlight Store)!

2 Thanks

Oh, I thought I’d read a post on here from him about bailing from AliExpress because of the way they operate. Apologies.

I’ll edit the above.

1 Thank

Agreed, I always buy from Simon’s own shop rather than Aliexpress.
