In all fairness, you should change the subject of your post as you were not scammed.

Mistakes happen, you should give the seller an opportunity to make it right before you ruin their reputation.

As far as I can tell, the AE seller did try to scam mortuus, and they did not issue the refund.
AE issued the refund.
The AE seller did not act in good faith, and they did their best to ruin their own reputation (in this case.)
Once the refund is received, maybe change the thread title to reflect the resolution, but I wouldn’t change it yet, and really, I don’t think the thread title HAS TO be changed. :+1:

There is no proof that AceBeam was responsible for the switch, the contents could have been swapped somewhere downstream, maybe on the way to the airport, maybe in an airport. There are thieves among airport staff, and in courriers.

AceBeam will not have done this, they’re a reputable company with a reputation to protect.

Along with scammer sellers there are scammer buyers. So the seller cannot trust anyone just because they say they didn’t receive the product.
No reason to accuse the seller of scam just because he disagreed with refund. Also sellers do not need to waste their time on investigations as long as AE will do this job anyway.

If I am afraid of scam I film unpacking (did this once).

Sorry, wrong “Reply” button.

Sorry to hear about your unfortunate experience with the order.

Store name: ACEBEAM Official Store
Store ID: 5879734
Open since: Jul 3,2020

This store is legit. I have personally ordered a few times, and I did not face any issues or whatsoever.

By the way, the packaging method seems to defer from ACEBeam factory iirc. Item could have been swapped out along the way.

Yes i am if anyone sad this incident happend. I had plans to buy more lights but after this first buy i will sadly not deal with them anymore.

What happend exacly nobody will ever find out, including myself. But i am not responsible if someone working there swapped the contents and threw in only junk to make it look like everything was in order. I am honest when i took the picture of what i actually got, its more acebeams response was just not what i expected since they just refused a refund or write that they will do a full investigation what actually happend, i got the feeling making further contact with them would not be worth my time.

They should question everyone working there, if steal packages they have the date, the tracking nr etc do a full internal report on that facilities…

What if i ordered a light for 100$ and got same reply ? Fact remains i didnt get what i ordered and they will need as seller make a report to the courier, ive sent them pics of the package and its not my fault thieves works packing the stuff that is not something i can do anything about.

It seems just weird someone would randomly pick my package to steal and swap the contents inside since it wasnt a brand new Iphone in there or something worth taking. Lose your job over a 20$ flashlight i mean come on lol ? They will need better security if it happend to me it can happen to others order more expensive stuff too.

As I mentioned before, I saw a post with these EXACT same items about a month or two ago…I don’t remember where, either on cpf or youtube…

I think you are missing the fact that sales scheme on AE has not two but three party : a seller, a buyer and a mediator (AE). As far as I know sellers can not choose a shipment method, it’s dictated by AE. In that case the seller of course not willing to take full responsibility for incidents that happend during shipping. That’s why your dispute was escalated to AE, so AE get to know about the problem or even share the responsibility/losses.

The Chinese conduct business differently, Acebeam’s response is exactly what I’d expect. I 100% assure you the seller loses out in this case, AE won’t be sharing anything and Acebeam may even get bad rep because google will be picking this up and people won’t be reading the full story. There’s no way they scammed you, who would find and package up 3 items and send them to you instead of grabbing a box off the shelf with a light in it and packaging that? Do they have junk lights, metal brackets and weird clips in their stock inventory. No.

@Dc38 I’ve seen a similar package of junk recently too, but whether it’s the same junk I’ve no idea. A similar shot of a similar package with 3 bits of stuff in, must have been here as I don’t do CPF. It’s more likely a modus operandi for some reason…weight? Looks like a mistake/wrong package?

Of course!!! The day someone reports the number of scams between vendors and buyers, only in purchases in Aliexpress, the testicles will fall to the ground. That will be a lot, a lot of money. A lot.

It could be whoever works packing the stuff is a thief, cant rule out that. Either way it sucks it happend i didnt want do a dispute but i cant accept that seller refused a refund since i didnt get what i ordered.

And again i had plans buy more lights from seller but if first time this problems i will sadly not take any more chances

Who was the last mile shipper?

I’ve had bad luck buying things on Amazon and didn’t get any help there either. I threw out the Xtar battery charger that wouldn’t safely charge NiMh batteries after not getting any help with a replacement from either Xtar or Amazon. I had a similar issue with a radio I bought from Xhdata, neither the seller nor Amazon would do anything to help there.

I’ve replaced both with better products from different companiesn through different sellers. Live and learn, and then move on to better things.

I’ve found Amazon very good the two times I’ve returned something. They even cover the return freight costs.

Shippers like UniUni, PiggyShip, and GOFO use gig workers paid peanuts to deliver. Because there is little accountability and poor incentives, I grow more convinced that this is simply an untenable business model that inevitably results in poor outcomes overall, and all shippers like this are a scam.

sometimes they can even say u can keep the item u want return and still get full refund… crazy

Last time I got copper parts on my d3aa, it went into limbo for 3 days…when I got it, there were dirty fingerprints patina’d all over the copper bezel, dirt and prints on the copper retaining ring, and grime on the body and smudges on the lens. The package itself had been opened once and then retaped to hell, but it was in functional condition so I sanded the bezel under running water, then hit it with some sanding/polishing cloth. The button ring was a bit harder to do, i basically reamed it on an earplug covered with polishing cloth.

But yeah…those third party guys really don’t seem to care.

I’ve had good luck with them in the past, but not lately.
