I got scammed on Ebay

$US31.09.and heading \/ http://silverprice.org/silver-price-per-ounce.html

Thank you for all the replies. This only applies, assuming it is real silver, and not a fake chinese counterfeit.

I think you need to call this your lucky silver dollar :)

lwkeung, Has eBay refunded your money yet?

I have appealed and Ebay has ruled that I mus return the coin for a full refund.

I would have to return the coin the the seller with tracking. What would be an affordable method to return the coin? All I know of is USPS Priority which is $30 already...

Thank you!

So did you weight it yet? Otherwise you don't know if it's fake or not.

if you dont want the coin, and want a refund, id say pawn it and be done. if its silver its worth more than you spent. if you have to ship it back, youll loose all of it in shipping

I wouldn't return it. If the seller does not to pick it up its deemed undelivered so your out the shipping cost, the original cost of the item, your time and the cost of the coin. And 90% of the time it wont get shipped back to you.

Ebay is also assuming he still has money in his paypal account. Let me make this very clear. If there is no money in his Paypal account, you get nothing. No matter what the verdict is.

I don't think that is true. If you get scammed, eBay will protect you. Not sure how this works since it isn't a true scam, possibly just the wrong item. eBay has to cover the cost of scammers who disappear quickly otherwise nobody would buy anything there. I bought something one time that was never shipped and it turned out to be a deadbeat seller. My money came from eBay.

Looks like the coin is worth $30 or more. Best thing is to pawn it or try to sell it at a coin store and try to get at least your original $15 back. If you pawn it, take your eBay receipt.

I will give you $15 for it plus post

That is called a balance scale silver trade unit and even if it is a fake it is worth more than $15.

Paypal says in their user agreement... "We reimburse Users for losses only to the extent we are able to recover the funds from the sellers. Ebay ownes paypal... And yes if Ebay can get a hold of the funds yes you are covered but its not like Ebay is giving their money away.

This has happened to me on more than one occasion. There was a fairly high profile case a few years ago where a major seller stuck hundreds of people without their goods. No one was able to collect because the seller had cleared his account out.

Um .....maybe buying coins on ebay isn't the best idea ..

He didn't.....he bought shoes......but got coins instead.

Of course the coin is 2 $ fake .It is a well known scam, they used to sent ‘gold’ ones…

Yep probably this.

Dont be naive and think some guy in China making $3 a day sent you a $100 coin "by mistake."

Call your credit card company and do a charge-back. PP is just screwing you by making you send the crappy coin back with tracking to China, yeah right.

80% on Ebay is the same as having like 0% on Ebay, its a very bad rating, so the guy will probably make a new account soon anyways.

Have you weighed it? Might be fake

Sorry

I have a friend who buys coins on ebay ... not a brillant idea

My advice is to stay on pay pal and make your case as clear and concise as possible ... to much info and they just flip a coin ...

maybe you could sell it to them

Good luck ...I hate disputes after losing the last one

It is look similar. Interesting case for sure.. I mean.. you got a coin instead of shoes :D

Always use a credit card when paying with PayPal. PayPal hates charge-backs and there's absolutely nothing they can do about them. Sometimes the mere threat of a charge-back is enough to energize them. PP's "protection" is a joke.
