This is a cool idea but it has a few draw backs. Keep it up and you can perfect the technology.
These Panasonic cells are already long now even longer! Some light wont fit them. These are also 20 grams heavier then stock ones.
Discharge amperage is low at 5 amps but more then acceptable.
These are NCR18650B?
Charge time should be closer to 5 hours if you are using CC/CV.

Price?
Charge current / amps?
Over-current protection (during discharge)?

This looks nice!
I travel a lot, so if they fit my favourite flashlights, I will buy some!
Thanks Brinyte for presenting this new cell.
This seems so much smarter done then that other 18650 with a USB connector build in.
Status LEDs a big plus
Panasonic 3400mAh cell a big plus
A bit shorter then a normal protected Panasonic 3400mAh a big plus
Extra circuit board protector a big plus
Also to be charged by normal charger a plus
I think it looks very nice.
So if charging is done right I can only see a very high price as con but we don’t know that.
Yes please send 1 or 2 to HJK for testing since we need some reliable test data on these!

The concept looks good to me, but why panasonic NCR18650B?
This is a very old cell with inferior capacity under load compared to the new generations cells Sanyo GA, LG MJ1, Samsung 35E, all these can handle higher currents than the NCR-B.

Brinyte, you can get your cells in the queue for review — send him some
If they send me one I will review it, but my queue is fairly long.
I also already have a usb rechargeable cell in queue.

Lazy-R-us:
Well, THIS is interesting. May I be the first to suggest that you send some samples to HKJ and have him test them? Strike that, let’s take up a collection and order some anonymously that get sent to HKJ for testing. What supplier can we order these from? Expected price point? Details, we need Details!
Hello, Lazy-R-us. Thanks for your advice, we will think about it. The MRSP of one USB 18650 battery is about USD11.69 . Then, More quantity, lower price .

Hello,Halo.
MRSP of one USB 18650 battery is about USD11.69 .
Charging current: 800mah
Brinyte USB Direct-charging lithium battery adds a triple with Micro-USB charging interface protection circuit, so the battery also provides anti-overcharge, over discharge and overheat protection.
Thanks.

Are you able to charge this battery in standard 18650 charger as well?
This is not new. The Mecarmy U18-34 has been out for a while, and Fasttech offers an Utrafire and a Trustfire that appear to be identical.
I have tested the Mecarmy, and it behaves like any decent protected NCR18650B.
It is also chargeable in a regular 18650 charger.
I just don’t get why they all seem to use the outdated NCR18650B cell.

I think this is great, and not to be overlooked is the claim that it comes with a 1 year warranty!
