It's getting ridiculous.. I should stay away from BLF for awhile

Well… When I went to the Zbattery website to pick up a few I couldn’t decide which one to get so, you know, I bought them all. Then searched EBay for the ones that were out of stock. I felt really bad for awhile but I’m feeling much better now. I mod them as giveaways and occasionally sell one too.

hey op. Solarstorm has some new lights similar to the warrior

You know something… I wish more light makers would use some of the colors Maglite does, even if it isn’t HA3.

I have a rule about buying lights. All of my flashlights have to fit in one bag.

Anyone know where I can buy a bigger bag!?

Keep the group buys coming, appreciate them! Thank you! See a therapist!

Its not normal, even if you find 5-10 "similar" collections out there its not normal. But that's good, as long as you are enjoying it, have the money, and don't get problems with the wife. :)

You might want to ask yourself some questions though. Why do you buy so many lights? Considered to pick 50 favorite lights and sell the rest? Would it hurt? In a few years most will be dated anyway and lost a ton off value. They will probably just collect dust, and you will most likely focus more on your latest lights and older favorite lights.

If you are not using it, and have one or several lights that does the same as good or better, why keep it?

Did you see the T3/T4 thread btw? I mentioned you in the last post. :D

That’s something I don’t understand… What a waste of money and natural resources!
If I were you I wouldn’t get all these flashlights and buy meaningful things… Or work less to have more free time.
“Things you own end up owning you.”

P.S: I realize that this is not the right place to say that… But I needed to say it.

Did you really say that only part of it is your fault?

You don’t understand that people collect things you might not see value in? I collect many things that you [and most people] probably don’t understand. Hell I have a collection of old/rare surefire and laser products tail caps from different P60 style light, I also have another collection of old hand saws that I never use, this is a forum about a hobby, what’s not to understand? Building those simple 2aa maglights is only of the many aspects of his flashlight hobby. I don’t understand why call him out like that…

Its his hobby?? :stuck_out_tongue:

I think its a language thing and context is stripped away in the translation. Actually Im not so sure, there is use of English that demonstrates familiarity.

call the fire dept first.

I’m sorry if I was rude. I didn’t mean to. My English is far from being perfect.
I was just trying to point out the fact that it is a lot of money spent for something not very useful (you will never use that many flashlights at the same time).
I don’t understand compulsive buying but to each his own.

No problem. Since I use them to make giveaway lights don’t enter the next one. We all have our own contradictions. I recognize mine, what are yours Mr Stonethrower?

It seems he thinks you buy them to keep.

…Not that theres anything wrong with that.

Everybody needs moar lights. its a passion not an addiction.

In a moment of over enthusiastic excitement when I dreamed that I would be able to sell a few mods a year I did this. I understand the criticism but the rule of thumb here is one my mother taught me,“If you can’t say something nice, don’t say anything at all”. This is a place where we can relax supposedly among others we know won’t make fun of our particular odd fascination with lights. It’s startling when that peace is unexpectedly broken. No politics, racism, sexism, no isms of any kind, just flashlights.

Some of us have way too many lights, some not nearly enough. Some of the former would rather be the latter and vice versa. That’s life.

Mine are kind of scattered, which kept it low on the wife’s radar for a time. My flashlights are tucked away in glove boxes, emergency kits, drawers and bags/pouches. But even the few I keep sitting out in almost every room draw attention. And I’d probably worry about having them stolen if they were all kept out on display.

The wife’s family likes to tease me but it all comes down to rewarding myself for all the hard work. Some people drink and gamble and spend all their money on fancy restaurants, booze and hookers. But at the end of the day I can look around the house and see where my money went. I make no apologies.

A few months ago the wife’s visiting cousin was giving a family member a Skype video tour of our home, who made the comment “Jeez is he rich?” and I overheard the cousin say “No, apparently he spends it all on flashlights and watches” lol.

More than one is too many.

No wait … you need a flood and a thrower, more than two is too many.

Wait… no, theres the car, the wifes car, the spare car, they each have a glove box and a boot (trunk), some even have door/seat pockets.
How many rooms in the house?

Yep, exactly. Don’t forget the kitchen drawer, night stand and bathroom. Same thing with the watches: there’s the dress ones, the ones for working out in the yard, and the total beaters.

But either way I’ve long since dropped the pretense. I’m a collector. I realized that when I bought a large pocket knife roll and it wouldn’t hold all my pocket knives. That’s not even counting the fixed blades lol.

That's the way most hobbies are.
