I had a bad experience with them last year involving no shipping, no updates, and no email responses (I started inquiring about a month after placing my order). Saying I was going to dispute the PayPal charge finally got a response from them. I eventually got most of my order, about 3 mo after ordering, and I gave up fighting for a partial refund.
I’m torn because they have a really good selection of modding parts, but I also don’t want to do business with them again.
Do you have a way to dispute the charge with your payment provider?
I only order from them if I have no other choice.
Also I order only for max 30 $ and take this as some sort of ‘gambling’. I expect that the money will be gone in the worst case.
If there are any other sources for modding parts, use these.
I take the gambling approach for most of my Chinese orders, obviously the odds are more favourable from Simon at Convoy than for KD… That said, my last KD order Oct/Nov last year took 4ish weeks but still arrived.
They’ve a pretty good selection of LEDs and small modding parts, if they did pre-assembled modding kits, they’d sell very well IMO.
To be fair i had a issue with Kaidomain in 2022 one of my orders was lost but not really lost it arrived in Australia and the freight forwarder Amerax would not deliver the items for what ever reason. They kept saying my address was wrong and blah blah blah and never bothered to contact me, Ban resent the order 3 times and the same thing happen each time. I guess they where not being paid enough to deliver my order, ironically it was down the road like a 1km away but i could not get it and i lost the order. I have had a few issues with Amerax they are flops. I asked Ban to use a different shipping method from now on.
That’s true, but after 2 LEDs being greenish and unpleasant (SFT-12 and XP-G4 high CRI, maybe there were more in the past, I dunno) I no longer have much trust to get pleasant tints for LEDs. What makes them special for me is the variety of chinese obscure emitters, but on the other hand without any informations about these chinese made emitters and datasheets it is also worthless tbh.

You order something. Then you hear/see next to nothing. And suddenly the mailman is on your doorstep. So maybe their communication has some room for improvement. But I have ALWAYS received what I have ordered from KD.
I was in the same position until my last order a couple of months ago- KD normally is slow (comparable to how slow stuff used arrive from china c.10 years ago), but my last order took about a month to just confirm dispatch! I’ll use them again because the Led selection is good, but I’m very wary and unlikely to place large orders.
I placed an order on 4/21 (20 days ago) and the status still says “Processed”. Argh!!!
This is my 15th order with KD and I’ve never had a no show, so I’m expecting it will arrive any day now.
KD has some parts that are not available anywhere else and I’m grateful they are still a supplier, but their shipping time and customer service should be better.
