The type of knifes I’m looking for is something like these. One smaller kind and one larger.
Of course any other fixed blade knives with good quality could be of interest
i’ve seen it too in “regular” websites (by regular i mean the ones you can use paypal), not sure if it was manafont, bic, or which one.
By the way, do you have it? someone here had the knock off but he hasn’t posted how is it taking time and (ab)use.
I bought one with leather sheath on priceangels for ~17-18$ year ago, but now the price is 32$. And second with plastic sheath on Ali for ~15$. The quality is ok for the price. But this knife is Chinese knock-off, so maybe other batches are not so good… And blade steel is quite soft. I think 420…
I have the real Falkniven F-1 with a custom kydex sheath. I paid about $200 for it. I want the cheap copy to take with me when there is a high chance I might lose it. I love my real F-1 but there are times it just sits at home for fear of losing it.
I have the cheap F1 copy from Manafont. The grind was off and the tip was bent. I wish SRM and Enlan would make fixed blades in their names. I think that the real knockoffs, the counterfeit ones withe the original brand names on them are much worse than the ones that are design copies that carry a Chinese company name.
still a mistery to me why they don’t try some fixed blades out… specially when so many are produce in China and a fixed blade with srm stamped on it would be an instant hit (many of us would buy it just to check). We’ll keep waiting, i guess
Still thinking about buying a Falkniven F1 clone. The reports are that the clones are junk. It’s too bad because I have a really well made custom kydex sheath that I hoped would fit the clone. I mount it upside down on my left backpack shoulder strap. I can reach over and draw it down out of the sheath with my right hand. It’s very natural.
I have owned one for maybe 8 months, and the quality & feel are top-notch - and not just ‘value for dollar’ quality.
I would not hesitate to pay $90 - $100 for one. ( bear in mind, I’m in New Zealand $$$ ).
It is built very well from good steel ( I was hesitant, but impressed ) and I would trust my life to this, I own a few or more $100+ blades that would come a distant second choice to this one, if I had to choose a ‘survival’ knife….
Feels very balanced, nice weight and the 0.45cm thick spine looks imposing, and it is put together very well.
You will not find better for the price. The blade is highly polished, and very nicely ground to perfection. You cannot see the shine on the ebay pics.
The one I received was identical, but had a nice hand engraved signature on the reverse-side ( Right-side ) which should have been on the obverse side. But it’s Chinese, so nothing more need be said. You will not be disappointed.
I’m not a fan of knock-offs, when I buy knives, they are either proven-genuine or not modeled off of any brands / models that are the real-deal. I started many years ago with knock offs and it just didn’t feel right. The lack of genuine dependability & quality just isn’t worth it ( for me at least ).
