I am looking for a single 18650 XM-L light that activates with a side button. I would like the button somewhat protected to avoid accidental activation. I am looking for good throw with a little flood.
I have seen this Ultrafire UF-T50:
and these Small Sun ZY-T11 and T29:
I was very excited about the Small Sun ZY-T13, until I found out the side button as mode change only.
How about this prairie Fire D11? I have one to review shortly. Runs on both 18650's (with included sleeve) or 26650's. It's mostly a thrower, wide spill, but mine is only driven at 2A.
Ive got the Ultrafire T-50 and am quite happy with it. It will switch off if bumped…really needs the longest cells you have to minimise this. The switch has only activated once accidentally. The variable power is easy to use, goes nice and low and the strobe is hidden. Good anodising and build.More pocketable than my solarforce l2n and n-light st-50. Its not perfect but for what i payed fastech…well worth it.
Oops. In my OP I miss listed the Small Sun flashlight links
I want to stay with a 25.4mm body, so the first one is out for me.
The Trustfire T2 looks nice, but the exposed button is a no go. I carry to many tools and the like in my jacket pockets to be comfortable with that. But I could use it when off the ranch.
That Ultra Fire UF-T50 looks like a great candidate. I wonder how it compares to the Small Sun offerings?
Ok, an XM-L emitter in a small headed light will be very floody. It will throw some due to sheer output (assuming driven well). Is this what you want? If you really want more throw, you could go with a light with an XP-G or even XR-E. Check some beamshot threads for comparisons of each.
