Looking for thoughts/info/feedback from any owners of this:
JAXMAN E2L 3LED TIR LENS flashlight 18650 flashlight torch Nichia 219B 219C
.
I’m trying to decide between “warm yellow 4000K” or “cool white 5700K” versions.
In the heading is shows 219B / 219C but no where in the description is says which one it comes with, I also couldn’t find any mention of the actual CRI #, if it’s 80CRI or 90CRI etc.
.
If you look at the invoices they show from Nichia the two types are:
WARM WHITE LED NVSL219CT
and
WHITE LED NVSW219CT
.
I have no experience with Nichia 219, although I’m about to order this little light to try it (5000K): Astrolux-Ti3A-Titanium 219C
.
A lot of fanfare for Nichia and high CRI, it has my interest because I like better color rendering, however the 219 tints often being described as “rosy” is what has put me off. My preference for tint is around 5000K NW, like 3C & 3D. My 4C Convoy S2+ (4300K-4500K) is a little warm but it’s not too bad. Although I don’t own any I don’t think I’d like a very warm tint like 3000k if its too yellow, I’m not really into the “incandescent” look. But at some point I’ll probably try one anyhow.
The reasons I like NW is for its better color rendition, especially outdoors, and I dislike any sort of blue/green hue. I could be happy with a CW if it’s pure white without any blue/green hue, but I’d always go for a NW if available for the better color rendition.
I didn’t know there was Nichia 219 in CW or WW, thought they were all NW. I’m wondering if the 3000K might be too warm/yellow, if so maybe the 5700K would be best for me if it doesn’t have much of a blue/purple hue, 5700K doesn’t sound all that cold and I’d be interested to see the better color rendering of the Hi CRI, so I guess I’m leaning towards that one.
I couldn’t find any reviews on this flashlight with Nichia 219. I can’t tell much from the comparison photo they show with the little beamshots shined against a black wall. I also watched the you tube video of the WW linked in the description, it doesn’t appear too yellow and the green bush looks nice, but everything else in the vid looks kind of drab to me, not the greatest surroundings for a High CRI demo.
So I’d like to hear some thoughts on these tints to help me decide, and also any feedback on this light in general.
Thanks
