Looking for headlamp. Regulated, moddable, inexpensive

Thanks.
H03 is very well known to me, but this will be my last choice.
HC30 is too expensive, Wowtac is advertised only 550lm

Wowtac a2s or Sofirn sp40

Sofirn SP40 has no constant current. Performance drops as the voltage in cell drops.

Did not know that, thanks.

This wowtac A2s caught my eye. Does anybody know if it’s constant current? The graph in the review is not available for me.

Jaxman E1

Right, I was considering this one. But Jaxman claims it has no temperature sensor. So either it does something I don’t know to regulate the current, or high mode is time driven. Still holding until this is revealed.

H03 /HC30 are cheapest(25-30$/33-35$)headlamp with buck drivers. If you want more cheap you can buy headlamp without stabilization( sofirn, conwoy…) and change driver to linear one.

HC30 has 5050 led and (how can it be?) no low voltage protection?

I still searching for headlamp too and same as you want. High cri headlamp. Hopefully you will suceeded.

Kaidomain KdlitkerHL-10

Wowtec A2s is not regulated either.
Is the Skilhunt H03 the only option? Please… prove me wrong.

For buck driver lvp is not required.
Noctigon Xp16 for example is suitable for Hc30 after 5 min work.
H03 is most mod friendly host with good enough stock driver.
Build quality is much higher than new 20-25$ l-shaped flashlights. And last but not least H03 is lightweight it is important for headlamp.

How about the Acebeam H40 It’s small (14500) so it can’t sustain the turbo output for longer than a minute, but it seems to tick your other boxes.

About the Jaxman, if you’re willing to use it as headlamp, please note what is written in the AGAIN part :

Yeah, quite funny. Forbidden to use as headlamp?

Thanks, this is tempting, but I would stay with stock high CRI sst-20. Anyway it’s a great headlight, I know.

You can find it for 8$ or so

Thanks, will consider although already ordered H03F. Unfortunately both are 5050 footprint.

I have a WOWTAC A2S.

Here are some shots of the light output PWM at different levels.

Moonlight

Low

High

Turbo

Looks like Low – High uses a 15.2KHz PWM and increases the duty cycle as it gets brighter.
Moonlight and Turbo I see no PWM.
I (assume) Turbo is a constant current affair as opposed to running flat out.
I’ve not tried to get inside so I have no idea how easy it is to mod.
Hope this helps.
All the Best,
Jeff

What about the Fireflies PL47 Gen2? any feedback

Thankyou
