I have measured vg-10 yesterday and have complete different feelings about host and thoughts about its quad mod.
Host anodizing in very similar to convoy m-series with matte finish.
Some members forced me to make M1 kit except of M2, theyd told me “no, I hate M2 with its shiny ss deep bezel”. I havent seen anything similar about vg-10, but its bezel is much deeper than M2 one.
Also, I didnt expect anodized pcb shelf in this light. Shelf have centering cavity, it is good for quad mod (drilling hole from the led side is more simple way), but most other good hosts have same cavity from the driver side, while shelf surface is flat and machined.
Head itself is very deep and tight. Unsoldering led wires is pretty difficult job.
And Im not sure at all what do you all mean when ask me to make extra centering ring for it. I have made rough cross-section drawing and Im almost sure that there is no place for such extra parts. Ive made o-ring holding ring design for hosts which have groove for o-ring at top of the reflector. In vg-10 there is bezel-o-ring-glass-host sequence. And this “sandwich” sits perfectly without reflector. In this configuration there is no place for any extra parts. I can consider option with changing sequence to bezel-glass-o-ring-liner-host, I think liner can be same shape, but little thinner than same part from M2 kit, with 1mm or even less o-ring and 1.5mm liner height. In this case liner will close the gap between bezel (25.4-25.5mm id) and quad optics (24.0mm od).
Any suggests?

Measured a few of my Surefires, 22.4mm diameter will work for my intended purposes, the optic design, I would like what these non Surefire pills are designed at, it will work for me, and I would take 5 please! 
Your VG10 has a matte ano? Where did you get it? Mine has the shiny S70 style ano, I would prefer the matte.
Also, mine has a machined MCPCB shelf.
It also sounds like yours has an o-ring on the glass, there were some reports by other users that this was the case. Mine has the glass between the bezel and the reflector with no place for an o-ring. After using a thinner centering ring for better focus the glass now rattles a little.
So it sounds like you have a very different model of vg10 then I do. Which brings up the issue of figuring out which model is what and how many there are. That could be an issue for making a quad kit for sure.
I got my order last night, much quicker than anticipated! Everything looks great and I really like the little pill box/container - I’ve already started filling it with little component parts to help organize some of my space!
Sometimes I use english words in wrong meaning. It is same shiny, I mean just surface contact feelings.

On another note a few years ago I picked up a copper AA maglite pill (from VOB I think) that replaces the plastic bulb holder and screws together instead of the snap together maglite design. The driver pocket is ~13mm and at the time there weren’t any suitable drivers available. With a 10mm sinkpad or smaller aluminum mcpcb and one of the tiny 12’s this is now a viable drop in option for a AA maglite using a single 14500 and spacer. You had queried about interest and design and this could provide a visual reference for a similar or upgraded design. I can post a pic of it later tonight or tomorrow if it would be of any help.
I was thinking about version thatll fit 15mm driver, 16mm pcb with xhp-50 and carclo 20mm single optics.
the xhp50 has the donut hole in those optics but the new xhp50.2 might not. We are waiting for some others to get their hands on them to learn more.
There are various of medium and wide frosted 20mm single led carclo lenses that have no hole in the hotspot with xhp50.
Question out of curiosity…what is the outside threading for the S2+ pill? 7/8”–20???
