Palight A8 X960 (2017)
Supfire L5-S ?? (that page lists the battery as 18650 but the L% does take a 26650 or 18650 with a sleeve) It seems to be a newer version of the L5 that mtnelectronics has sold for a while. It seems to have disappeared from RMM’s webpage recently though. When I saw it last RMM said he liked the build quality.
The L5-S is a 26650 single cell light with a front end of 40mm. It does have a side switch but the L5-S version also has a tailcap switch unlike the version RMM sold/sells (L5-L2). The L5-S also comes with a USB micro port for charging. If the internals are like the L5-L2 version a 17mm driver can be piggybacked to the scraped down stock 30mm driver. It uses a 20mm MCPCB in the L5-L2 version; probably the same in the L5-S version. The USB port could be sealed off and the tailcap switch usedfor those who don’t want to use a side switch. Have no idea how the tailcap switch is made; if it is easy to mod or a piece of crap press together thing with plastic crap.
However, I hope to know in three weeks or so as I have one on order. It should be shipping in the next day or so. Taobao.com and tmall.com have several vendors selling them.

Without glass. Unless it’s an expensive TIR optic I don’t see much point in using glass and the optic combined as it will cut the output. I just used an additional GITD o-ring.

Cula’s style zy-t08 pill for 17mm driver.
You can use different size pcbs, add extra plates for non-standart optics and etc., so builder should drill holes where he needs.

This is just my opinion from building a few of these lights recently.
The VG10 is a wise Idea, that is a great host, except for the lack of oring between glass and reflector, if you added an o-ring there with the quad setup that would be a very nice bonus feature. I see myself getting more of these in the future.
The D01 pill would be interesting but frankly I have a D01 running an FET driver with XP-L HI and it has no issues with heat transfer in stock form. Plus I don’t see many people mod the D01 for some reason, although it will still be a cool upgrade option. Same thing applies to the 1504, I have an XHP35 in it and the limit is in getting the heat out of the body, not the pill in my experience. Just not enough fins for 40W.
The x7 spacers, I just built the X6’s and while I don’t have an X7 yet I can say that the X6 needs a much thicker body, it would be a lot more comfortable to hold if the body was thicker and heavier (to balance the head). I just wish the X7 was not so ugly but if nothing better shows up I am sure I will get some.
The F13 while not the best host quality is the best triple cute-3 host I can think of right now. I very much want to build 1 or 2 of these.
I also have a few D cell mag lights laying around that I have been wanting to find pills for, this is a pretty popular mod with not many options for pills that I have found. particularly budget options. So this could work well. What measurements do you need exactly? I have never built one of these yet so I don’t really know where things are “supposed” to go to measure it.
I think I read that someone was looking for the Palight X960… ?

In difference with other lights, D01 have great place for buck driver. Some use second tube with 2S3P cells.
I would be interested in Maglite AA pills .
I’m making one now , so i’ll have to see what measurements would be ideal etc (I have modded the tube and i still need to mod the head) .
Let me see first how it will be .
Im not going to make any parts that require host machining.
I was thinking about just regular spacer to use with 16mm single pcb.
Hmm ok , i was interested in triple pills , but they require some work on the host as you said (Can be done with hand tools also if someone has the time) .
I will take one of the X7 spacers with my shipment as well, debating on taking the last one you have, Do you think you will be making more of them? What about the F13?
