Men's Necklaces (a.k.a. Chains)

If you’re trying to say that this style looks like a dog’s choker chain, then yes, that point has already been made and everyone with vision is already aware of that. :eye: :eye:
Larger cuban chain necklaces just look like that. :slightly_smiling_face:

You could get a matching gem to go with, like a cuban zirconia.

Nah, I prefer just a stainless steel chain without any “ice”.
There are plenty of inexpensive chains that are iced out with fake diamonds/gems, though.

Mmmm, okay, that one didn’t land…

Oh, now I see…
“Cuban” zirconia.
Before I accidentally read that as cubic zirconia. :man_facepalming:

Did you mean something like this?

:joy: Well played sir!

I have an interesting idea. What if a chain necklace was designed to convert into a saw if oriented properly? It would need to be a clever design to prevent snags on clothing and accidental reorientation.

I think that’s the plot of the next Saw movie. :grinning:

Same reason I don’t wear rings. My dad is a surgeon, and they had more then one person in the hospital where the ring got stuck on something and ripped the skin or the entire flesh off a finger. Very hard for the docs to fix, and incredibly painful. Too bad, while I’m not crazy for necklaces myself, I like how a sleek titanium ring or similar looks.

Yeah, I think Jimmy Fallon injured his ring finger because he was wearing his wedding ring and had a freak accident.
I’m not worried about my chain necklace, but I do realize that it could be a liability. :zipper_mouth_face:

I think for necklaces it would be easy to add a weak link, for example where you open/close it, that is designed to snap before your neck can sustain any damage. Maybe manufacturers even do that? Not sure. I think women’s necklaces, which are usually much more filigree and gold/silver should be weak enough to snap before inflicting damage by design. Those more beefy (stainless?) necklaces however… No idea.

My wife is a Bowen Therapist and a certified sports masseur. Rings can hurt skin and can be forgotten (after washing hands). So she doesn’t wear a ring. And what good for the goose is good for the gander…
BTW on navy ships rings are prohibited if they can cause injuries, that’s why some crew members wear silicone rings.

You just need to make sure there is no slack to get caught on anything:

You leave me breathless.

I used to be crew on an RNLI lifeboat, I never wore my wedding ring at sea after seeing photos of a de-gloved finger. In my day to day life I’ll risk it if I’m not using power tools.

Wow, I didn’t expect that picture! :grinning:

Definitely memorable! I must have been 10 yrs old when I first saw it in a National Geographic and I still think of it from time to time.

I keep on researching chain necklaces.
If the one that I recently ordered isn’t thick enough, I might order a larger diameter chain from AliExpress.
I’m not going to provide a link until after I place the order and the order ships.
The price is so low that it might be a pricing mistake. :money_mouth_face:
