Here's the story:
I was in the market for a new tactical flashlight, one that could be weapon mounted, bright, and durable. As I was searching, I came across a brand called MTE on dealextreme.com. The price was right, only $31 for a 900 lumen flashlight, but there had to be a catch. I did some more reseach on the P7-D, and I happen to run into the U.S. based distributer for all MTE lights. Here's his site: http://site.gregmcgeeengineering.com/ I learned more and more about these lights as I read up on them, and so many reviews, until I found out that many MTE flashlights on the market are fakes! There was the catch for the P7-D on dealextreme.com. They sold the fakes, and many of the reviews on the market were on the fake P7-D, and still, many people liked them! So, since MTE has a huge problem on the fakes, I decided to try out the legitimate MTE flashlight from Greg are GregMcgeeEngineering.com I asked him to prove that he was the real deal seller of the MTE flashlights, and sure enought, he told me the many ways on how to spot the difference between a fake and a real MTE light. Then he showed me that he was the owner of the online trademark for the US based distributer of all MTE lights. I bought a couple, the P7-D and the M-2.
He shipped "light"ning fast and it arrived at my door within a matter of days. I tore up the beautiful packaging and inspected these fine lights. Man, these things are brighter than anything I've ever laid my eyes on, and the look as if they are built to last like Duralast. O-rings to seal the light from any water, I wouldn't be afraid if a hurricane hit this light, no water would get in or out.
The P7-D is a great light being weapon mounted. Perfect for my needs and build quality that seems perfect. Robust and durable, it's earned a spot on my M4.
The M-2 is fun, it's not as bright as the P7-D, but when on the tightest setting, the M-2 has NO flood and has enought brightness to show the P7-D who is boss, and has some left over to smack the P7-D around. It's like a handheld spotlight.
Overall: I am impressed. These things feel as if they can put the sun to shame, I haven't held anything brighter and don't think I ever will. MTE has earned a spot on my quality parts list, and my P7-D has served it's field time well. I suggest that you guys take a look at these, and don't fall for the el' cheapo' knockoffs. Buy them from Greg here: http://shop.gregmcgeeengineering.com/ and you will not regret it.
