Cheers!
I decided, that I have too less beefed up flashlights - so I firstly ordered some triple XP-G2 Noctigons and got inspirated by another thread.
The first Mod is a standard-King (one of the fake XP-L ones from FT) on which I did a spring Mod: King Spring mod - What do you think? because it will be driven by the King FET driver from RMM.
First thing: I realised that my lathe is way too small for 65mm*100mm material
If it looks stupid, but does work, itās not stupid.
Takes a while and the surface looks awful, but it works.
finished pretty nicely:
Meanwhile, the LEDs arrived:
Pill glued into place with Arctic Alumina - the LEDs are just for testing the currect height
I ordered some optics (could swear that I have 6 lying around here somewhere, but I canāt find them) and will order the driver, then my 12*Nichia King has a bigger brother
The next Project - inspirated by this Post by Cloner: COB LED Flashlight?
I have a TR-J20 aka āThe Plungerā for a long time, but rarely use it.
So, I choose this one to mod - with a NW 100W LED (extremely nice btw. perfectly NW, no greenish or yellowish tint and a good CRI).
So, first, the 12 XM-Ls had to go:
Then, I took that 65mm aluminum from the King mod and chopped another spacer off it:
A fitting groove in the head - so that itās aluminum-to-aluminum and also sits 100% central (And the surface wasnāt that even before)
The LED is a bit too big - but I donāt have bigger material than 65mm (On this pic, the LED isnāt glued on)
It lives
Head (of course) heats up very quickly, which shows me that the thermal path is good.
Lok at it. LOOK AT IT! Thatās what I call a flooder
For this light, I too need a driver. I will go for the āLed Senser Xtreme R.2ā - then this light should have an output around 75W.
Or if someone has a good driver solution, Iām open for all
So far - Now I have to wait for the drivers (But first, I have to wait for the money to buy the drivers :P).
Canāt wait to see both in action.
