Awesome! Wish they were a little cheaper! Reflector looks deep, but wish it was wider. No tube for the 26650? Wouldn't there be battery rattle? Wouldn't 3AA's be about the size of a 32500? Does that mean a 32500 cell would fit?
I guess only Eneloops can give that high amperage. But that would be just like 40-50 minutes or so at the highest. Maybe a 6xAmc driver could be better for this light. I were on the edge of buying an Olight s65. It was a wise idea to pay ~$90 to a 6x AA light while 3x AA UNknown Cyclone was $45. But now with a price tag of <$30 For a 3xAA, $90 feels too high.
I have to disagree. The Cyclone is pretty nice looking while this Aurora offering is kind of butt ugly.
I got so excited when I read the title - because I'm on the 3 x AA/26650 kick - and then saw the author is fran2 so I already knew it's a DX product. Poop on that.
yeah, i spent 45 minutes waiting for someone to actually answer on online chat today, a half hour between rma'ing stuff they shipped that was wrong and opening paypal cases, then a half hour trying to figure out how to cancel the hd2011 from dx offers (waiting 16 days, still 'packaging') and never figured out how.
If this weren't DX, I'd jump on it now. This will sell big because of the "not having to buy a charger and special battery" factor for non-flashaholics.
Hmmm... I do like 3AA fat lights, and I'm just about to embark on the Saik mod, probably using an XM-L @ 2.2A, but these lamps, although a little ugly, look a LOT sturdier in the thread department.
Maybe I should sell the Saiks (I bought 2) and pick up one of these.
