New SAOPRKLER V2 Cyber Tactical Flashlight is now available!

I know it’s not, but I keep reading the name as “sparkler”.

Well, at least you have found a mnemonic for a name you forget a second after you read about it.

I know that the Western world is not the be-all and end-all of the world market, but I do wonder if choosing a brand name that we know how to pronounce would have been a good marketing decision.

Yeah, I’m reminded of the Nintendo Wii.
It’s a decent video game console, but what’s relevant is that the name “Wii” has a positive connotation in most major languages, and that’s partly why Nintendo named the console that.
It is a good idea to name your company/products something that looks and sounds positive in most major languages.

Sounds good enough, but a nice (almost familiar sounding )name can get you into a deep rabbit hole.
I remember a European car maker who would like to penetrate a more upscale market and gave the car a name that in NL is well known as cheap baking fat.
Or another European car maker that gave a car a name that sounded very similar to “son of a b****” in the language of the neighboring country.

Nice looking flashlight. SFT40 is a great choice. Love the marketing approach!

Best if you want to target the western world is picking an English word, like Simon did with Convoy imo. Easy, memorable, and no weird meanings in other languages.

Perhaps they will manage to be more successful in the West with a recognizable brand name. What does SAOPRKLER (did I spell that right?) actually mean? Sparkler as a brand name would be somewhat interesting, at least this would be something new.

The light itself looks interesting and somewhat solid, even if it is nothing innovative. I don’t think 3 light levels are enough though, especially when the lowest level is several hundred lumens bright, which makes using this light in near distance very difficult.

What these lamps have to do with “cyberpunk” or something like that is not clear to me.

Anyone remember the TrekStor i.Beat blaxx?

Since the website didn’t work for me, I did a Google search out of curiousity. First bad sign: Google automatically changed the search term to ‘sprinkler’, because it thought I wasn’t really searching for ‘saoprkler’!

After actually searching for ‘SAOPRKLER’, their own website did not show up on the first page of results (possibly on the 2nd page, if saoprklerlamp.com is the official site?), but I did find the (official?) Amazon store: Amazon.com: SAOPRKLER

I just gave it a quick look, but so far I’m not really impressed by the current offering of lights; a lot look like standard (cheap) chinese lights, just rebranded.

The Sentinel-X1 suspiciously looks like a (WF) 501b based flashlight. No UI mentioned. It shows a USB cable, but I can’t make out if it has onboard charging or a 18650 with USB port. It says the battery is included, but no mentioning of what capacity.

The Sentinel-A1 looks like a generic cheap Chinese zoomie, including the standard 5-mode (H-M-L-Strobe-SOS) driver.

Then there also is the SAOPRKLER / Haikelite AK01, which they openly lists as being a Haikelite, just at a ‘diferent price’. It does come with a battery, but no mention about what type/capacity.

As far as I can tell, none of their listings on Amazon tells what battery size/type is needed, just ‘Li-ion’ is mentioned.

I don’t want to be extremely negative or something, just pointing out that from what I could find of the existing models, nothing really stands out.

Hopefully with the V2 Cyber Tactical Flashlight they will start to offer more of their own unique flashlights!

Thank you for supporting our products, we would like to register simple and memorable brands, unfortunately there are too many people registering brands, we can only choose multi-letter brands.

Hi Wingman

Thank you for your concern as Amazon’s policy is not to describe batteries;

We are actively working on new product models like the Cyber V2… We will be working on new models like the Cyber V2…V3…V4 and so on, so keep checking back with us.

Merry Christmas!

In for GAW! Interesting design and spec look good. Hoping for more LED option but SFT40 is already good match

The cyberpunk Futurama bit seems supply, but sounds like a nice light overall.

Thanks for the gaw as well!

It looks like an excellent flashlight. A pleasant UI, a really aesthetic design, and good durability. I can’t wait to get one. SFT40 rules
