As we can see, the TS10 SG bezel is unchanged, by using a flat Tir over a single LED.
I have not seen a beamshot yet… The TS10 SG driver remains the same as the TS10 Triple, it is a Fet +1 7135. This is not a new driver, nor is there built in charging. Its just a Single LED TS10 SG w a flat Tir.
That flat TIR is interesting. Hard to tell, but it doesn’t quite look like the kind used in the Sofirn HS10 and a few other lights. Hopefully there’s not much chromatic aberration.
The flat TIRs are a great compact optic option for modders if triples aren’t desired. I’m working on a project right now where I’ve considered using one.
Yeah, I’m a bit thrown off by that TIR. Seems like it’d be more floody than spot… on a round die… does not compute!!! I mean, I guess it might still have a decent hotspot. But, with a lot of spill (how much spill, is the question)
Do you know of a source for the flat TIR? It seems to resemble the one used in the Sofirn HS10 and Sofirn SC13, that have concentric rings, like a fresnel lens. Except the TS10 variant has additional beading…
It will be helpful when we can see a beam profile… Im guessing it is a throwy optic, but with added diffusion to blend the fresnel rings…
It looks like the SFT25R is Cool White and Low CRI.
The use of the SFT25R seems to open up the possibility of using other 3535 LEDs, such as the High CRI 519a…
This leaves Wurkkos the option to come out with a High CRI version later, as happened with the FC13. As long as the height of the Tir above the LED allows the use of a Domed emitter… but it is at least likely DeDomed will fit.
That 3535 compatibility is one of the things I like about the HS10 and FC13. fwiw, their Optics are not too floody imo, but they do have some fresnel rings in the beam.
I’ve never tried to source them since I harvested one from a Sofirn SC02 (a $5 junk light). It’s always worth a shot asking the manufacturer if they will sell you parts.
The rings are one thing, but what bothers me is the chromatic aberration, i.e. the rainbow of colors in the rings. Hopefully this TIR is slightly different and fixes that. I put DC fix on my HS10 and it smooths everything out nicely. I have an SC32 (same optic) and I want to keep it as throwy as possible so I’m keeping the rings.
The lens in the pictures does not seem to be the HS10 Fresnel. Has to be similar in height, however.
The Wurkkos TS10 lens is exactly 5mm from PCB to front. The Yajiamei is 8.9mm from PCB to the “step” (since the central part can stick out through the bezel opening). Still almost 4mm too tall, sadly. So one would need to use a taller bezel, SP10 bezel should fit and might be just the right size.
Sorry, I meant the TS10 Single lens does not look like HS10. I did recognize the HS10 lens in your pics - I own one of those myself and like it a lot. Might be possible to fit the HS10 lens in the TS10 single, however
Sadly, me neither - but I have seen people make either TS10 or FWAA singles with SP10 bezels before! Can’t remember which optics they used, though. All 3 bezels (FWAA, TS10, SP10) seem to be interchangeable.
agree… the TS10 single LED lens shows concentric rings like the HS10, but the TS10 single LED lens has added scallops that I think will blend the fresnel rings… Waiting for a wall beam profile photo…
All 3 bezels (FWAA, TS10, SP10) seem to be interchangeable.
agree… If we can source an SP10 bezel, we might be able to use a Yajiamei Tir… not sure, as I have not seen that done (yet)
